How to avoid combo moves in Dragon Ball Lightning Explosion ZERO
If you are playing the main story route, you will encounter Jiren as the final boss in Goku's character chapter. You have to defeat Jiren to progress, and doing so isn't easy.
How to start the fight with Jiren
You will fight Jiren at the end of the Tournament of Power in the Universe Survival Arc. The path to reach this battle is very challenging as you need to face many powerful opponents in the game.
Luckily, you'll be fighting as Ultra Instinct Goku, which makes the battles even more interesting. Despite this, Jiren is still a threat that cannot be underestimated. There aren't many alternative paths to choose from here, and it's recommended that you follow the main story route to get the coolest ending and unlock Jiren's character chapter.
How to defeat Jiren
Jiren is a formidable opponent, and you are just as powerful in your Ultra Instinct form. When the fight begins, you're in Goku's incomplete Ultra Instinct form, and you'll notice that Jiren is suppressing his true power as well.
As the battle progresses, Goku will master autonomous ultra-instinct, allowing you to pose a greater challenge to Jiren in his basic state. The combat strategy is pretty simple, you need to keep your distance and charge up to transform yourself into spark mode. Once in Spark Mode, you'll need to get close to Jiren and launch into a series of melee combos.
It is recommended to press the air button in the middle of a shock combo to shorten your combo, as Jiren will sometimes break away from the combo, making it difficult for you to get close to him again and deal significant damage before Spark Mode ends.
When Jiren is knocked back, you can unleash Ultimate Burst and start charging again. Keep repeating this process until your opponent's entire health bar is consumed. Afterwards, Jiren will unlock his true potential and start taking on you in earnest.
The overall strategy remains unchanged. However, sometimes Jiren may not give you a chance to start a shock combo. In this case, you'll need to use super sense or high-speed dodge to counter his attacks and knock him back.
If you can't recharge and go into Spark Mode, you can use Super Sense to knock him back before recharging, or if you're already in Spark Mode, you can just use Ultimate Burst to deal decent damage to him.
If Jiren doesn't give you time to recharge at all, you should look for a small opening and use Wukong's "No Back Down" skill, which will cost three skill points but will instantly switch you into Spark Mode. Also gives you a lot of buffs, such as attack and defense boosts.
Make sure to keep your distance while Jiren is in Spark Mode. His ultimate burst is unblockable and covers a wide area, so it's best to stay as far away from him as possible and wait for his spark mode to end.
If you can defeat Jiren quickly, you'll unlock an alternate ending in which Goku wins the Tournament of Power on his own, but you may not be able to claim the generous rewards hidden after the main ending.
