Red Dead Redemption cheats and cheat codes can make your Wild West adventure a smoother (or more chaotic) ride — depending what sort of cowboy you are.

The following list can pad your wallet and arsenal, spawn you a quick getaway, and even make you the most wanted outlaw in the West.

Our Red Dead Redemption cheat codes guide lists all the available cheats in Red Dead Redemption, including Rockstar Social Club cheats, and how to enter them on PC, PS4, Xbox, and Switch.

How to enter Red Dead Redemption cheats

Before entering cheats in Red Dead Redemption, be aware that using cheat codes disables achievements and trophies. So, if you want to trophy hunt later on, you need to start a new game.

To enter cheats in Red Dead Redemption, enter your save file (or start a new game), then press pause to enter the Options menu. Next, navigate to the Cheats tab, and press the relevant button to Enter Cheat.

* On PC: On PC, press the F button to enter cheats. If you’re using a controller on PC, use the relevant controller button below.

* On PlayStation: On PS3 and PS4, press the Triangle button to enter cheats.

* On Xbox: On Xbox consoles, press the Y button to enter cheats.

* On Switch: On Nintendo Switch, press the X button to enter cheats.

Once you’ve opened the cheat interface, enter the relevant cheat from our list below, ensuring the punctuation is correct. Cheats must be entered including the correct punctuation, though they are not case-sensitive.

If you enter the cheat successfully, you get a pop-up saying, “Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked a new cheat code.” If the code has been entered incorrectly, a message will say, “Sorry! You have entered an invalid cheat code.” In some cases, I got a message saying,“Sorry! You have already validated this cheat code,” when I hadn’t entered the cheat before. If you get this message, check your cheat list as the cheat has likely still been successful.

Successfully entered cheats then appear on a list under the Cheats tab. To activate a cheat, toggle it on. To deactivate a cheat, toggle it off. This means you only need to enter the code once and can simply toggle a cheat on when you want to use it.

Just be aware that you cannot enter certain cheats, like spawning a horse or stagecoach, when partaking in an activity.

Red Dead Redemption Rockstar Social Club cheat codes

While most Red Dead Redemption cheats are entered manually, there are also some cheats that automatically become available when you start Red Dead Redemption. Originally, these cheats were unlocked by linking your console account to the Rockstar Social Club, but once the Red Dead Redemption servers were switched off, they became available for all players. You can find these cheats under the Cheats tab, available to use straight away.

Is there a money cheat in Red Dead Redemption?

Yes, there is a money cheat code in Red Dead Redemption. The cheat code for more money is “The root of all evil, we thank you!”, but it only grants you $500 at a time.

So, if you want to rack up the cash, you need to toggle this cheat on several times. Unfortunately, there is no infinite money cheat in Red Dead Redemption.
