Once an archetype reaches maximum level 20, it can continue to gain A-EXP and fill up the upgrade bar. At this point, once 1,000 A-EXP is obtained, it fills the bar and generates a Heroic Light Leaf. This can be used with any archetype, allowing you to use stronger archetypes while still being able to upgrade them, since later in the game some archetypes aren't very useful at low levels.
