Once you agree to Fabian's request to rescue Maria, you will be teleported to the entrance of the Silent Bee Inn. There will be a man in gray clothes in front of you. After talking to him, he will reveal that he saw Maria appearing by the stairs on the north side of Sunshade Street, near the department store.
The department store mentioned is "Comfort Reconciliation", located at the northernmost end of Sunshade Street.
Talking to this cold man will create a quest marker for you to follow.
Talk to the activist woman outside the shop and she will tell you that she saw Maria walking towards the cathedral. Take the stairs behind the woman to get there.
Here, follow the quest marker to the center of the cathedral, where guards are stationed. To find Maria, approach the guard stationed next to the cathedral. A small cutscene will automatically trigger, and the guard will tell the party that a little girl has entered the cathedral. Immediately afterwards, a conversation between the protagonist and Maria unfolds. He comforts Maria and promises to bring back a photo from the upcoming journey. Maria will return to the Silent Bee Inn and the quest marker will read Complete.
