SILENT HILL 2 REMAKE is a 2024 PS5 & PC Reimagining of the 2001 PS2 game SILENT HILL 2. It features new collectibles, gameplay improvements (particularly in combat), changes to the environment, two new endings, and of course modernized graphics. Old guides for the game will no longer apply due to many things having changed and items being in new locations. As with the original game, everything is missable. Once you leave an area you can’t backtrack, and there’s no chapter select or free-roam after the game. There is a New Game+ but nothing from the first playthrough carries over, so you’ll have to be sure to get all collectibles in one run.
The game is a survival horror, similar to the Resident Evil games. A thorough playthrough with collectibles will take 10+ hours on easy difficulty, but once you know the game a second playthrough can be completed in 3 hours.
