Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero How to Unlock All Characters

In Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero, all characters can be bought from the in-game shop using the currency “Zeni” (obtained for every battle you play). The characters unlock gradually in the shop as your Player Level increases. New ones unlock at Player Levels 10 + 20. All of them will be available at Player Level 20. The player level increases for every fight in every offline- and online mode. Reaching Player Level 20 takes around 15 hours of playtime.

Many of the characters can also be obtained in other ways for free: as rewards from certain Episode Battles, Bonus Battles, beating one of each offline Tournament, and wishing for them at Super Shenron.

The last two to unlock at Level 20 are “Goku Black” and “Fused Zamasu”. These can be unlocked early by wishing for them at Super Shenron but you can also simply buy them. Everyone else will be available after Player Level 10 which takes around 3-5 hours playtime to reach.

Buying all characters costs around 3 Million Zeni in total. But if you don’t waste money on other items you get more than enough money by playing through all Episode Battles and one of each Offline Tournament (each Tournament gives 150,000 Zeni on first time completion). By playing through those modes you will also unlock plenty characters for free so you can save money.

What’s important to know is that unlocking one character also unlocks ALL of that character’s variants. When you first start the game, about half of the characters will be grayed out. But you don’t actually buy all of them, only one variant of each character and it automatically unlocks the others. So buying 1 character can unlock 3 or more variants. That’s why there will be fewer purchasable characters in the store than there are grayed-out characters in the roster. In total 47 characters are for purchase in the story, which unlock all their sub-variants too. The only one that can’t be bought in-game is “Goku (Mini)”, he is an exclusive Pre-Order Bonus (DLC item).

Fastest Method to Unlock all Characters

1. Play through every character’s Episode Battles – this will unlock many characters for free as rewards, you will reach around Player Level 15-20 and get lots of Zeni
2. Play one of each Offline Tournament – each unlocks a character for free + 150,000 Zeni
3. Now you will have enough money and should be Level 20 to buy all 47 characters from the Store.
4. If you still need level-ups or Zeni play the Bonus Battles and optional side paths in Episode Battles.
