To take a finesse shot in FC 25, all you need to do is hold down R1 (PlayStation) or RB (Xbox) while you take your shot. This will send a precise, curling shot into the corner of the goal you’re aiming towards, and while it’s not going to be the best option all the time, it’s a great way to get a shot on target if you’re looking for precision over power.
Finesse shots can also be a great way to score from outside the box. For example, with a right-footed player, you can cut in from the left wing and use a finesse shot aimed at the far corner of the goal. The goalkeeper will likely be positioned closer to their near post, meaning a precise finesse shot has a good chance of beating them. This is especially true if you make good use of timed finishing to make your shot even more accurate.
In some instances, it can be a great option to use during a 1v1 with the goalkeeper. Wait for the keeper to come off their line slightly, before using a light finesse shot to roll the ball along the ground into the bottom corner.
