While they don’t get as much love as the flashier players on the pitch, a great CDM is the beating heart of your midfield. Tackling and closing down opposing players before pinging balls forward to progress your team up the pitch, having a solid, all-round CDM conducting your team is a must at the highest level.

That’s why we’ve put together a list of the 10 best young CDMs in FC 25’s Career Mode. Whether you’re managing at the very highest level or are a bit further down the pyramid, this list has players for all budgets so if you’re willing to put the time in, you’ll have yourself a gem in a few seasons.

Best young CDMs in FC 25

Here are the top 10 best young CDMs in FC 25 ranked by their potential rating from highest to lowest:

Player Age Club OVR POT
Archie Gray 18 Tottenham Hotspur 73 87
Moises Caicedo 22 Chelsea 82 87
Arthur Vermeeren 19 Athletico Madrid 76 87
Kobbie Mainoo 19 Manchester United 77 87
Stefan Bajetic 19 Liverpool 72 85
Aleksandar Pavlovic 20 Bayern Munich 72 85
Romeo Lavia 20 Chelsea 75 85
Samuele Ricci 22 Torino 77 85
Adam Wharton 20 Crystal Palace 78 85
Noah Mbamba 19 Bayer Leverkusen 65 84

Out of the best young CDMs, only Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo starts off good enough to slot into a top-class team in Career Mode – for the rest of the players, you’ll need to put in some time to develop them. Arthur Vermeeren and Kobbie Mainoo are the best choices if you’re looking for someone with a decently high starting rating that still has plenty of room to grow, though Archie Gray has the same potential with a slightly lower start point.

Luckily, while there are no world-class options, that does mean that there are plenty of bargains to be had here. Stefan Bajetic of Liverpool and Bayern’s Aleksandar Pavlovic are both great value options that have a skill ceiling in the mid-80s, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Noah Mbamba has a relatively low 65 overall rating, but the potential to reach 84 in a few seasons.
