The research institute in "Frost Age 2" is a very important building in the game. Many special technologies require a research institute to obtain, but many players don't know how to build a research institute. In fact, they want to build a research institute. If so, you can prepare resources first, which are 400 labor force, 100 heating coupons and 50 prefabricated components.
How to create Ice Age 2 Research Institute
The Research Institute is one of several buildings automatically unlocked at the start of the game. This structure allows you to open "Thinking Trees" where you can unlock useful technologies that will help your city survive. To do this, you need a certain amount of resources:
400 labor force
100 warm coupons
50 pre-made parts
Please note that unlike blocks, you cannot place Research Institutes directly on the ground. Instead, you need to build a residential area first. Once completed, you will need to expand the area once so that this additional structure can be built. The steps to extend a block are as follows:
Click on the block you want to expand.
Select the four arrow icon at the bottom.
Pay 50 Warm Coupons and 50 Prefabricated Parts.
Select the three additional blocks you want to expand.
Expanding the block takes some time, but once it's done, you can place the Research Institute inside it. After building this structure, you can enter the "Thinking Tree" by clicking on the branch icon in the lower right corner. To unlock new abilities, you need to spend some Warm Coupons and wait for a while.
Although you only need one Research Institute to unlock the Mind Tree, you can build multiple such structures. The main benefit is that it will reduce the research time required to understand new ideas. The disadvantage is that the extended residential area can only accommodate one additional building. Therefore, you need to decide whether this research time bonus is worth not building other useful buildings, such as hospitals or filtration towers.
