Faction riots in "Frost Age 2" are a very troublesome thing in the game. If you don't handle it well as a leader, you may step down. If you want to prevent faction riots, you can act according to the situation. Riots are based on relatively What begins as a minor protest will grow into a full-blown riot as relations continue to deteriorate.
How to prevent faction riots in Ice Age 2
Factional riots occur when each organization's enthusiasm increases due to poor relations (in other words: they are triggered by high enthusiasm and low relations). However, the riot does not immediately turn into a full-blown riot.
Instead, riots begin as milder protests and develop into full-blown riots as relations continue to deteriorate. You'll see an indication to prepare for a protest in your faction's status bar, giving you some time to calm it down before it becomes an issue.
In story mode, Riots and Protests are a locked action that cannot occur until you reach Chapter Three. No matter how hard you try, you can't trigger a protest or riot until then (thank you so much!).
If you are unable to quell a protest before it starts, you will have the opportunity to stop the protest by meeting some of their demands. Generally speaking, you will usually have the following options:
Repeal laws that the faction does not like being passed
Research multiple projects of their choice
Come up with your own strategies to increase their trust (e.g. fund their projects)
If you are on good terms with the faction directly opposing the protest, they may end the protest early without you having to take any action.
This can be a good way to stop protests early, but if passion and poor relations with opposing factions persist, protests will restart elsewhere. The advice is to try to allay the concerns of protesting factions rather than letting your allies solve the problem for you.
If you fail to quell the protest in time, it will start to spread to other areas. Protests start out minor but include and can develop into the following issues:
Labor shortage and declining productivity
Entire areas were forced to close
Injured or even murdered
Permanent damage to the area
Tensions with rival factions rise, another protest faction may form
