Mastery points in Space Marine 2 are a key feature of the game’s Operation mode. You’ll find that levelling weapons up is an important part of the game’s progression system. As you use weapons, you’ll gain XP, and these XP bars help players to unluck slightly modified versions of the weapon, introducing better stats to the gun. The better the stats, the better your chances at killing enemies on higher and higher difficulties as you use them.
For the most part, you’ll naturally get Weapon Mastery tokens via levelling up the gun, which are then spent on the immediate upgrade for the gun. However, players can also find Weapon Mastery tokens in Operations that they can then spend on any relevant tier weapon upgrade they want, skipping the need to grind weapon XP for it. This guide will teach you everything you need to know about Weapon Mastery points and how you get them.

Where to find Mastery Points in Space Marine 2
As stated, there are two main methods of acquiring mastery weapon points in Space Marine 2
- Levelling up your weapon
- Completing mastery progress bars for the different versions of the weapon.
XP contributes to two level-up methods. You get standard weapon XP for progressing your weapon via the total track. When you reach the XP threshold of your current tier, you naturally progress into the next tier. There are four tiers:
Weapon Tier | XP Bracket |
Standard (grey) | 0 – 1500 |
Master Crafted (green) | 1500 – 7500 |
Artificer (blue) | 7500 – 17000 |
Relic (legendary) | 17000+ |
When you reach these new thresholds, you can buy a version of the weapon, which modifies weapon stats. This then grants you a mastery XP bar for that specific version of the weapon. Completing the mastery will award you with another mastery point.
However, players can choose to spend Armory Data on the weapon version they unlocked. This instantly completes a mastery XP track, and awards you with the completed mastery point for it.
You can find Armory Data on each map, which is identified by the floating servo skull. There are a few places on each map. We recommended checking out armoury data locations like the one on the Steam community for ideas of where they could spawn. You can also find Gene Seeds, which grants more class XP too.

Completing a Weapon Mastery XP bar gives you a free Weapon mastery point, regardless of natural XP or using Armory Data.
What are Mastery Points used on?
Players will spend Mastery Points on purchasing perks for the weapons they level up or master. You’ll get perks that progress through the weapon’s tier you’ve unlocked. Once again, grind regular weapon XP to progress to get new perks in other brackets. When you do unlock a bracket, you can buy all the perks you want. But, keep in mind the pathways of the perks. Some may need a previous tier to get access to, while others can branch into the row above or below, depending on which you’re looking at.
Each perk will cost a Mastery Point, so, it is part of the need to grind weapon levels and spend your armoury data on purchasing the other weapon version in that tree. You’ll naturally get XP and reach level cap completing missions and using weapons to get kills. Make sure to check for the best weapons in Space Marine 2, so you know what weapons to grind for each class.
It’s one of the reason why grinding Armoury Data is so important, as it enables better Mastery Point farming. This should help you get all the perks you need from a tier.
Outside of that, this about covers all you need to know about Mastery points in Space Marine 2.
