The Gene Seed is a type of collectable that players can find in Space Marine 2, which awards bonus XP and rewards for completing the Operation with them. You’ll find them scattered around the Tyranid-themed maps, where players can find them somewhat randomly around for a collectable bonus. They often spawn in the same spots that the Armoury Crate locations can spawn in. So, to help you find them, here are locations we are aware of that Gene Seeds spawn in.

Gene Seed Locations

As mentioned, the Gene Seed locations in Space Marine 2 appear to spawn randomly on the Operations on Tyranid maps. They can share spawns with the Armoury Data stuff too. There are normally a few areas they spawn in on each map, and it’s random which one they spawn at. So, you will need to keep your eyes open to find them. We’ll go through each map and list the locations we are aware of so far. 

If you go down with a Gene Seed on your character, it will break. The feature adds some risk-reward to get a sizeable XP increase upon completion.

Another thing we’ve noticed is that Guardian Relics tend to spawn in some of the locations that we’ve seen Gene Seeds spawn in. Keep a mental note of where you find them in world pick-ups, as they seem to have a spawn chance alongside Gene Seeds or to not spawn in at all.

Inferno Gene Seed Locations

1. At the start of the level, you’ll progress through the swamp area. You’ll eventually come to a bridge overpass, with a burning vehicle a short distance away. The Gene Seed is on a green box near the ruble to the side of the vehicle up against the wall.
2. Enter the Promethium processing plant outdoor area from the swamp. Dead ahead is a ramp that leads towards the building, and another on the left takes you towards a large tree. Take the left path as the Gene-Seed is behind the tree near some green boxes.
3. Inside the large collapsed water room with the red lights after the generator defence. Drop in and check the far back corner of the room where there will be lots of crates. The Gene Seed hides behind them.

Decapitation Gene Seed Locations

1. Near the start of the mission, you’ll battle through what looks like the ruin of a church. Proceed onwards to the outdoor area, and you’ll come across a section with a catwalk with Tyranid Warriors guarding. Go past it, and you’ll enter a large open area with red crates You cna come across a broken area with fencing covering teh edge of the building where you can find one. There’s also a pathway down naturally too.
2. After planting the charges, you can find one Gene Seed location in the elevator room after planting the chargers before ascending. You can see the location in the corner of the room where my ally pings his formerly possessed Guardian Relic. You can access it by going up or going down after blowing the bridge. It doesn’t really matter.
3. Ascend the Elevator after planting the charges in the tower. When you load to the bridge, there are statues in the room. The Gene Seed can spawn next to the statues.
4. When you walk out toward the bridge detonation area, there’s a large section near the building. It’s a long area you want down with storage crates at the back. The Gene Seed can spawn at the back behind one of the storage crates in the corner. 

Ballistic Engine Gene Seed locations

1. There’s a tiny little room on the left side of the first section of the map when the dust storm affects visibility. Go round the corner, wait for the dust storm to settle, then go up the steps where the objective marker update is. Head into the room on the left there and check behind the left-hand side of the room for the Relic / Gene Seed spawn.
2. Drop into the train shipping trainlines area. Travel left up the trainline and stick to the left wall. When you get close to the tank, you should see an opening to the left that leads to a hidden spot. That spot can contain a relic / Gene seed spawn behind a box. There’s also a dataslate just up from the tank.
3. After fighting through the train shipping lines area, you’ll come across a ledge you drop down. There’s a small square-shaped corridor and in the corner before the advance to the train marker, you’ll find a spawn in the spawn in the corner.

We’ll update the guide if we can confirm more spawns as we play through these missions. The visibility on this map makes it even harder to find the Gene Seeds and Armoury locations moreso than usual.
