Next time you launch NBA 2K25, you may notice that several big-time players have been removed from it. These are all retired players who may not have wanted to be included in the game. Unfortunately, this is a huge blow to basketball fans, as many classic teams are missing some of their iconic players, from Charles Barkley to John Wall.
In this article, we will list all the players who have been removed from NBA 2K25. The good news is that most of them may come to the game later in the season.

If you want to play with a classic Washington Wizards team, you will notice that John Wall is missing from it. While Gilbert Arenas is an amazing replacement with his hot hand, Wall is a different type of breed. Agent Zero can easily knock down long-range shots and step up in the clutch, but the lack of Wall and his athleticism leaves much to be desired.
To make the situation worse, Andre Iguodala is not in NBA 2K25 either. Despite leading the Golden State Warriors to a championship and winning the Finals MVP trophy in 2015, Iggy didn’t make the cut. To make the situation worse, the game features the Steph era of basketball, yet one of the biggest names from this era is missing from the game.

Iggy and Wall are among 25 NBA players who have been removed from the new 2K title. Below is a list of all the players:
Player | Team |
---|---|
Charles Barkley | Phoenix Suns |
Reggie Miller | Indiana Pacers |
Blake Griffin | LA Clippers |
Andre Iguodala | Golden State Warriors |
Tayshaun Prince | Detroit Pistons |
Rasheed Wallace | Detroit Pistons |
Serge Ibaka | OKC Thunder |
John Wall | Washington Wizards |
Goran Dragic | Miami Heat |
James Jones | Miami Heat |
Mehmet Okur | Detroit Pistons |
Malik Rose | San Antonio Spurs |
Joel Anthony | Miami Heat |
Andris Biedrins | Golden State Warriors |
Steve Blake | Portland Trail Blazers |
Andray Blatche | Washington Wizards |
Rasual Butler | Indiana Pacers |
Andrew Bynum | Indiana Pacers |
Mike Dunleavy Jr. | Golden State Warriors |
Jason Kapono | Miami Heat |
Linas Kleiza | Denver Nuggets |
Troy Murphy | Golden State Warriors |
Mickael Pietrus | Golden State Warriors |
Theo Ratliff | Philadelphia 76ers |
Lorenzen Wright | Memphis Grizzlies |
As the table above shows, some teams have been completely decimated by the removal of players. The 2004 Pistons, who won the championship, are missing three of their players. This makes it impossible to recreate their championship run without custom players. The removal of Blake Griffin makes the Clippers much weaker, while the Thunder are missing the strong inside presence that Ibaka provided.
Some of the removed players may be added to NBA 2K25 in the future. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Barkley and Miller will come anytime soon. They have been missing from the game for a long time, so adding them would be quite surprising.
