Space Marine 2 has a key feature that helps players survive taking damage in combat. This is the armour feature, located under the player’s health bar in the top corner of the screen. This is an important resource to manage, regardless if you’re playing in the campaign, Operations or multiplayer game modes, as it makes all the difference for survivability. Once it goes down, you’ll start taking heavy health damage, so, keeping it up is very important. Here is everything you need to know to repair armour in Space Marine 2.
Repairing armour in Space Marine 2
To repair armour in Space Marine 2, you need to do one of the following:
- Escape combat for a period of time.
- Execute an enemy.
- Perfectly parry an enemy.
- Bulwark’s battle standard ability in Operation and Multiplayer.
Escaping combat will always regen your amour after a delay. This will be a key part of the game as you progress through the game’s various staged combat moments.
In terms of actively getting repairing your armour, you need to perform melee actions. Executing enemies is a key part of this. Most of the time, you’ll find Elites in the swarms, ranging from Tyranid Warriors, Nuerothorpes, Liktors etc. When their health bars deplete, you’ll find their model starts glowing red. This indicates you can execute them, which is a special move. Executing them awards the player with two armour bars worth of armour.
You can also get two armour bars worth of armour from the perfectly parrying an enemy. This is often done with the swarming melee enemies. Any enemy that swarms you, such as the Homogaunt enemy can often make jumping melee attacks. If you parry these enemies using the counter button, then you can often counter and kill them instantly. It essentially works like an execution in nature, and awards you with two armour bars worth of repairs.
Outside of that, most counters don’t award you anything, other than staggering an enemy. You can then typically gun strike an enemy, which either instakills small enemies, or deals heavy damage to elites and bosses.
The other method, which is largely for Operations and Multiplayer is via the Bulwark class. Their special ability allows them to place a banner down. This restores the armour of nearby allies passively while the ability lasts.
Armour always restores the equivalent of two full bars. If your charater has threee armour plates, then it may mean you need anothe repair to fill in the remaining plate.
