Pokémon Go’s new “Max Out” season is themed around Dynamax and the Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Below we detail when the “Max Out” season will begin and list new features you can expect to come as part of the new season.

When does the ‘Max Out’ season start?

The “Max Out” season goes live on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m. in your local time, launching alongside a “Go All Out” event that’ll introduce Grookey, Sobble, Scorbunny, Dreepy, and their evolutions to the game.

The huge Galar and Dynamax themed season will end on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. in your local time, when a new season will roll out.

What’s new in Pokémon Go’s ‘Max Out’ season?

There are quite a few new features rolling out during the “Max Out” season:

* More Galar-region Pokémon making their Pokémon Go debuts

* Seasonal Special Research themed around Galarian starter Pokémon

* Dynamax Pokémon and Max Battles, a new PvE battle type at new in-game landmarks, called Power Spots

* An overhaul of the Go Battle League, shaking up the PvP meta

* A new in-person and global event type: the Pokémon Go Wild Area that will take place on Nov. 16-17 in-person in Fukuoka, Japan and Nov. 23-24 globally

There’ll also be the usual events smattered throughout the season, including Pokémon Go Community Days and the like.

There’s no word if the more specialized version of Dynamaxing, “Gigantamaxing,” will make an appearance this season. No Gigantamax Pokémon were featured in the “Max Out” trailer. (Though, yes, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Charizard all have Gigantamax forms, they were not shown in these specific forms during the trailer.)
