Contents show Four ways to make Nix happy in Star Wars Outlaws How to unlock the Treasure Hunter ability
Nix is a pretty cool customer, never shying away from danger or even making much of a fuss, but that’s not to say you can’t make the little guy happy. While you can do this out of the kindness of your heart, it’s also worth doing to tick off the unlock conditions for The Mechanic Treasure Hunter ability.
To get the ability, you need to find 10 containers, use Nix to fetch an item, and find four different ways to make Nix happy. The first two requirements are straightforward, but the last one is tricky to figure out as the game doesn’t give you much to go. We’ll walk you through all the ways you can make Nix happy.
PreviousFour ways to make Nix happy in Star Wars Outlaws
Here are the four way we’ve come across to make Nix happy, in table format for easy reference:
Action | Description |
---|---|
Pet Nix | Hold down L1 on PS5 (Q on PC) to bring up Nix Vision and select Pet. Kay will bend down and give Nix a head scratch. |
Speed Boost | Unlock the Speed Boost upgrade, then use it by tapping square on PS5 (shift on PC) while riding the speeder to put a smile on Nix’s little face. |
Trigger Detonations and Sabotage | Hold down L1 on PS5 (Q on PC) to bring up Nix Vision then instruct Nix to trigger a detonation or sabotage a control panel. You can find these readily in Imperial bases out in the open world on all the planets and inside Syndicate districts in all the major cities. |
Eat Galactic Street Food | Complete the eating mini game at any of the Galactic Street Food stalls. The easiest one to reach is Che Mosska in the Market District in Mirogana city on Toshara. Check the gallery above for the exact location. |
How to unlock the Treasure Hunter ability
Once you’ve made Nix happy four times, access the menu, cycle through to the Abilities tab, tap on The Mechanic, then onto the Treasure Hunter card. Hold down the corresponding unlock button – X on PS5 and Spacebar on PC.
If you’re having trouble with finding the 10 containers, you can find them throughout the open world in outposts, workshops, compounds, hideouts, and other points of interest, but also during the main story, Intel quests, and side quests. As for fetching an item, find any valuable item and instruct Nix to fetch it using Nix Vision.
Once the ability is unlocked, Nix will provide useful audiovisual cues whenever Kay is near any containers. Furthermore, the Nix’s Vision scan ability (up on the D-pad on PS5, B on PC) will also highlight containers. It’s a useful perk if you plan on hunting down all the treasure chests or have a compulsive need to loot absolutely everything like I do. If that sounds like you, check all the Nix Treasures locations across all four planets.
