Between the multitude of weapons you can equip in Black Myth: Wukong, some will invariably be the best choices to pick. While getting the most Attack stat might seem like the gauge to go by, the weapon’s effects play just as important a role, if not more. They can improve your build and help you leverage powerful combos to get more than simply stacking damage.

5 Best weapons in Black Myth: Wukong

While there are many strong weapons in the latter half of the game, these weapons edge out their competition to become the best choices. They largely owe that to their effective unique properties paired with decent to high base damage. Some of them are craftable, while others take more effort to get.

5. Visionary Centipede Staff

  • Stats: 90 Attack, 10% Critical hit chance
  • Effect: Upon a successful hit with charged Heavy Attack, each Focus Point cost slightly recovers Health. If the enemy is in Poisoned State, massively enhances the recovery.

This Legendary staff is great for everyone who worries about survivability. It helps you recover health after hitting with Heavy Attacks, especially if you poison the target first. To do that, we recommend using the Violet Hail transformation to pair them up for a bonus effect.

4. Golden Loong Staff

  • Stats: 108 Attack
  • Effect: Moderately increases the Damage dealt by all Pillar Stance moves. A Loong can be summoned to execute Thunder at the enemy at Pillar Stance Heavy Attacks that cost 3 or 4 Focus Points.

This Mythical tier staff is extremely useful for anyone who likes using the Pillar Stance. Its effect depends on you having unlocked several Focus Points in the tree, which shouldn’t be difficult if you go down the Pillar Stance tree anyway. You will unlock the recipe to craft this staff after beating Cyan Loong in Chapter 3.

3. Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear

  • Stats: 135 Attack, 6% Critical hit chance
  • Effect: Integrate spear techniques into Light Attack Combo and increases the Damage dealt by Thrust Stance moves; Upon performing Forceful Thrust shoots swords from the staff to attack.

This Mythical staff has a similar effect to Chu-Bai Spear. However, the upgraded staff’s effect provides you with a measure of short-range AoE, which is the closest you can get to having a ranged attack in the game. You will need to go down the Thrust Stance tree to get the full effectiveness of this weapon. This staff is pretty tricky to get though – you have to beat the final boss, then return to Chapter 3 and find the secret area near the Great Pagoda Shrine. Then you’ll face several boss fights back to back, before unlocking the weapon.

2. Stormflash Loong Staff

  • Stats: 140 Attack, 9% Critical hit chance
  • Effect: Draws Thunder while charging, and inflicts Thunder Damage with every staff attack when in Shocked State.

This Mythical staff boasts the highest attack stat in the game, but you won’t be able to find or use it in the regular game. Instead, it’s only available in New Game+ mode and takes several expensive components to craft. However, besides its great stats, it also comes with a very strong effect that takes advantage of charging Heavy Hits and uses the shocked state to your advantage. This is especially effective with Golden Lining and Dark Thunder transformations.

1. Jingubang

  • Stats: 135 Attack, 9% Critical hit chance
  • Effect: The gauge of the 4th Focus Point no longer depletes over time.Counts as a set piece for Heaven’s Equal set.

Jinguband is a Mythical staff that is without a doubt the best weapon in the game. It not only comes with its own strong effect but also represents the fifth piece of Heaven’s Equal set, which is the same set that Wukong wears in the game’s prologue. To get this staff, you will first need to collect and wear the set itself, then go to Water Curtain Cave, located north of the Mantis-Catching Swamp shrine.
