Where to find Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth: Wukong
Refined Iron Sand is a rare material that drops from bosses or can be found in chests, usually ones that are away from the most direct path. That means that exploration is key to getting this material.
Some bosses are able to drop the resource after you’ve beaten them, starting from chapter 2 and onwards. In fact, you are guaranteed to get your first piece of Refined Iron Sand at the end of that chapter. When it comes to looting chests, look for chests that are on the ground, rather than on tables or pedestals. Of course, you should loot those too, but it seems that this rare material can be specifically found in large chests on the ground.

This resource is especially sparse during the first three chapters of the game, after which it becomes more common. Some notable locations to look for are the abovementioned end of chapter 2, as well as the start of chapter 3. There are several chests hidden near the starting area of chapter 3, each with a random chance to spawn with Refined Iron Sand in them.
Lastly, you should always check the Shop whenever you rest by the Shrine. The Shop can carry one or two pieces of Refined Iron Sand, so you should immediately purchase them whenever you see them. They cost 1200 Will to buy, which you should be able to easily afford even early on.
