While in Chapter 2, you will have an area you can visit that is entirely optional. Visiting the area will award players with the ability to fight more optional bosses, find more NPCs, and collect items. One of the things that players can find along the Fright Cliffs area is the Buddha eyes, a collection of key items, with an obscure meaning. You need to collect them all, and by doing so you can activate a special boss. Here is a closer look at how to get all of Buddha’s Eyeballs in Black Myth Wukong and where to use them.
Black Myth Wukong – Buddha’s Eyeball locations
In total, there are six different eyes you need to collect. They will be scattered around the entire area, most specifically around the Flats area and the Squall area. Both of these Wayshrines are connected fairly close by, with some sand hills, and a cave system bridging the two shrine areas together. We recommend following our guide in order to easily find the Buddha’s Eyeball locations.
Go to the Squall area and check slightly down the hill from the shrine.
Buddha’s Eyeballs 2
Go through the cave system, then stick left and the path down the hill. You’ll easily find a gate that brings you to a new area. You will find a trail that brings you to the Way Shrine for the Squall area. Slightly further down the hill is a Buddha statue you can claim.
Go inside the cave and check the lower part for the well-lit shrine.
Buddha’s Eyeballs 3
Go back into the cave system, near the lower part of it. Walk up the hill from the shrine, then enter the lower part of the cave. At the back is an altar with a Buddha face statue you can pull. If you try to redeem that statue before the second one it doesn’t seem to work for some reason.
Ascend the cave system, then go to the platform opening to find this hidden Buddha statue.
Buddha’s Eyeballs 4
Once again, you need to move up the cave system. Walk through the cave, and to your left, you will find a slope that leads you up to an area. At the top of the cave is a mother of stone boss, which you can beat for a key item. The key item can be used in the next area to unlock a new NPC trader. To the right of the Stone Mother boss is an exit into the daylight. This leads you to a platform you can walk on with a Buddha statue overlooking the scenery.
Enter the Squall area and work your way towards the road that leads to the cliffside monument. There’s a Buddha tipped over along the road near the ravine.
Buddha’s Eyeballs 5
Now it’s time to return to the Squall shrine. From the Squall shrine, you need to move towards the cliff with the monument on the cliff face. Along the pathway opposite the cliff face monument is a Buddha eye along the pathway. You need to be on the other side of the ravine in the ground from the cliffside monument to be on the right track.
Ascend the scaffolding at the cliffside monument for the final Buddha Eyeball.
Buddha’s Eyeballs 6
Now it’s, time to climb the scaffolding where the cliffside monument is. Go further down the hill, and cross over where you can get over the ravine near the cliff face. From here, you should find some scaffolding to start climbing to get to the cliff face. Avoid all the ranged enemies and rock boy guards around the place. Once it is safe to do so, you can look at the final Buddha eyeball.
PreviousWhere to use the Buddha Eyeballs
Now you have all six Buddha’s Eyeballs, you need to return to the Rock Crash Site way shrine. In the arena where you battled the Stone Vanguard, keep to the right, as if you’re walking back other to flats and Squall. On the right side of the arena, you should find a large boulder on the floor. The boulder has the faces of Buddha decorated all over it.
Interacting with the boulder will use all six Buddha Eyeballs on the stone. This will awaken a secret boss called the Shigandang. This is an even tougher boss than Stone Vanguard.
Its main attacks are very slow, with large pounding fists slamming the floor. It can also jump and crash on your location. Another move you need to watch for is the shockwave skill. It will blast shockwaves from a location outward around the arena, which you need to dodge or jump over.
Once you beat the boss, you can get special rewards. You will get another key item called the Skandha of Felling, alongside the Heart of Stone. The heart of Stone unlocks a new weapon crafting pathway for your weapons. Which is fairly strong damage for the end of Chapter 2 and the start of Chapter 3. It also comes with its own upgrade path at future points. You can also get a trophy for it too.
