These days, one of the most important things players are asking before buying a game is whether or not it has Denuvo. For PC players, Denuvo is something nobody has ever asked for, but one that players always seem to get, so it’s no surprise if you’re wondering if it’s been implemented in Black Myth Wukong too.

We’ve got all the information you need, so you’ve come to the right place. We’ll take you through whether or not Black Myth Wukong has Denuvo implemented, and if it does, what this means for you as a player.

Is Denuvo in Black Myth Wukong?

We’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news, but yes, Black Myth Wukong does use Denuvo. For those unaware of what Denuvo is, it’s basically an anti-piracy measure that makes games more difficulty to crack. It works well, but it also has the unfortunate side effect of reducing the game’s performance, sometimes drastically.

There’s plenty of evidence that Denuvo implementation can cause games to suffer from frequent and substantial drops in frame rate, games crashing, and other technical issues. It can also reportedly eat up a lot of your PC’s processing power or RAM, making your PC as a whole run slower while the game is live. This means that PC players, especially those with lower-end setups, may face problems getting the game to work smoothly on their setups.

Unfortunately, there’s no workaround for Denuvo, nor a way for you to remove it from the game. If a game comes with Denuvo pre-loaded, then you’re stuck with it like the rest of us, with your best option to be trying to reduce your settings in an attempt to try and eke out a bit more performance from your setup while playing.

If you’re a console player, you’re thankfully spared from this. Console ports do not suffer from any of the drawbacks of Denuvo that PC players do, so if you’re worried about it impacting your performance on PlayStation or Xbox, there’s no need to.
