Black Myth Wukong has an RPG-like skill tree that enables players to specify their core gameplay style. You’ll find abilities that modify style and weaponry, upgrade your preferred attacks, and even modify your passive stats. Yet, there’s a few build must haves. Here’s a closer look at the best skill tree options in Black Myth Wukong.
Best Skill Tree options
For the most part, a lot of the skill tree is filler. You’ll need to progress through a lot of those points to get certain skills that are fantastic. Keep that in mind as you build your character as you level up. However, the ones we recommend as must-haves.
Composure is arguably the best single-skill tree option in Black Myth Wukong.
Composure
Composure allows players to continue their combo light attack chain even after dodging. This is very overpowered, as this allows players to dodge most boss attacks mid-combo, and hit their finisher. The finisher is the second most powerful attack in the game outside of your heavy attack, so, this is a major quality of life improvement for your boss killing.
Now, you can do your combo, dodge your boss’s single attack, and then finish your combo. Note that this won’t work against bosses that chain fast attacks. Due to that, your combo will reset. But not with the next recommended skill tree option.
Unbroken Chain is a very good combo extender for your spell usage.
Unbroken Chain
Unbroken Chain is the third skill tree option down on the right side of the Immobilize spell tree. Like Composure, you get to cast Immobilize, without interrupting your combo. Now, this is important, as you can combo attacks coming your way and freeze the enemy in place. You can continue your combo or complete a full combo during the phase. If you’re already partway through there’s potential to get two combos off depending on the circumstance.
If you’re playing a crit strike build, this spell talent is a must-have for your build.
Concealed Observation
If you like the Cloudy Step spell. This is one of the only spells in the game that has a very strong critical strike synergy, as you get around 2.5% crit chance per second, stacking up to ten times. The spell typically lasts around 8-10 seconds, depending on upgrades, so you can use your stealth to get a nice chunky hit most of the time. It works as a keystone skill tree option for any Cloudy Srep gear builds, crit strike weapons, crit chance and damage spirit passives and stat upgrades.
If you’re running a spell build, then this upgrade is your biggest damage-increasing spell available.
Tyranny of Numbers
When you unlock a Pluck of Many, you will get a nice skill tree option for increasing the damage of your clones. This is a very good talent, as you get a lot of monkeys running around. The damage they can do can easily overwhelm many enemies or do some serious burst damage to bosses that don’t cleave too well.
If you misuse it, you will get punished as your clones don’t have much HP. You may need to consider HP buffs of the Pluck of Many skill tree health upgrades.
Spell builds will also need more mana, and this is one of the best ways to get it.
Spiritual Awakening
Most builds, bar one spirit build will need mana. Mana is very important for key spell builds, getting a free spell against a boss, or gear sets dedicated to lowering spell cooldowns. Most of your spells typically cost either 30 mana for the top spell, 50 mana for the immobilizing spell, and 120 for a Pluck of Many. Reducing your mana costs is key for spell builds.
You can get six upgrades from this node. Ach upgrade award ten mana, so that’s a full immobilize, two up spel slots or half a Pluck of Many. Combine this with mana upgrades from the Celestial Medicine crafting to get even more mana. There are other ways to get mana back, such as from gear, and Immobilize skill points for mana restoration on completed stuns.
Crit builds need to invest in this talent as crit chance is hard to come by in-game.
Wrathful Escalation
Wrathful Escalation is the only good skill tree option for crit chance builds outside of Cloudy Step. You will need to upgrade this with crit builds, as you don’t get crit from medicines. The only other early source of crit is via a weapon upgrade on the left tree. You can also get some passive from spirits that increase crit, with the best delayed till Chapter 4, at the cost of huge manae reductions. So, this skill node is very important.
All builds will need to upgrade their Heavy Attack at some point, as heavy finishers are the most useful damage sources of your entire arsenal.
Focused Attack
Focused Attack is a tier of upgrades you can get from levelling in the stance tree. These are very important as more focus slots allow you to use stronger heavy attacks. This enables your focus generation builds to scale dramatically. It’s also handy for big bonks in general regardless of your play style.
For Cloudy Step builds, make sure to grab the stealth crit heavy attack usage. You can stack your focus slots, then Cloudy Step and build your crit chance with it .4 Focus Points spent on a crit-heavy attack will do devastating damage.
