Contents show Can you play Black Myth: Wukong in multiplayer? Will there be multiplayer or co-op later?
Games that fall into the soulslike subgenre tend to focus on single-player experiences. Some flirt with multiplayer in the form of PVP and other similar features, but only a few have full-blown multiplayer and co-op. With Black Myth: Wukong taking the community by storm, it’s only natural to ask whether you can share the fun with others in multiplayer.
Can you play Black Myth: Wukong in multiplayer?
Black Myth: Wukong is a fully single-player game, with no multiplayer or co-op features of any kind. Therefore, you can’t play the game with your friends or ask them to bring their Monkey King to help you out against a difficult boss. You’ll have to do it all on your own.
You may be used to seeing echoes of other players in Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and similar games, but Wukong doesn’t have that either. While that may seem like a lonely proposition, the cast of NPCs in the game is more than enough to keep you company.
Will there be multiplayer or co-op later?
Currently, there are no indications that Game Science plans on adding multiplayer features to their game. Of course, never say never, there is always a slight chance. But from what we’ve seen so far, Black Myth: Wukong is meant to be experienced by yourself and plays best when you face off against foes at your own pace.
Therefore, while it’s certainly not off the table – who knows what the future might bring – we can’t really see multiplayer being added as a later feature. If it does happen, that would be great for anyone who enjoys that sort of gameplay and won’t take away from solo players. But from everything we know so far, the chances are slim at best.
