Black Myth: Wukong is a Souls-like and like many, it has its challenges. If you’re looking to get through the game. From new features, somewhat difficult combat, and exploration needs, There are a few things to note. So, to help you through the game, here are some Black Myth Wukong tips and tricks to help you proceed through the game.

Don’t craft the starter head armour piece.

As you play the game you’ll gradually unlock new armor sets as evidenced by Wayshrines Part way through Chapter 1 you’ll passively unlock the feature and you can craft a headpiece for a bonus 8 to your defence. Yet, straight after that is a boss that drops a ten-armour piece head armour item. It’s better to save the resources since you’re limited early and, which can be used to for the upcoming armour sets you can craft in the not-so-different future.

Cloudy Step leaves behind mirror images that taunt enemies while you go invisible. You cna use this to flank, avoid enemies or study your opponent’s combos.

Use Cloud Step to scout boss moves

Magic is an active part of Black Myth Wukong, with many buildings often wanting some spel usage for either crit passive combos or light attack combos. Yet, spells also have other uses. When you get Cloudy Step towards the end of chapter 1, you will use the spell to ignore enemy archer fire.

However, one of the other methods is the magic spell’s ability to scout boss patterns. Feel free to use the spell, and see how the boss’ combos work and chain. That way you can study the moves and then be more familiar with perfect dodging the boss’s attacks.

Perfect Dodging and parrying

Unlike other Soul games, parrying is not a feature in the game. Instead, you have the Perfect Dodge. Perfect Dodges are timing your dodge exactly as the attack is about to hit you. Most of the time this grants stamina and Focus in return. You can get items that give mana back for example after perfect dodging three times in a row. There are other perfect dodge synergy buffs in the game too as you progress.

If you’re looking for a parry-type feature, you can build into one. The Immobilize spell has a perk you can get that allows you to get an extended stun on a target as they are about to hit you. Cast the spell as the attack comes in and you will find they are stunned for a slightly longer period of time. If you’re a parrying god from other Souls games, consider getting this perk

Resting regenerates your Spirit resource

Spirits are a new feature in Black Myth Wukong. You can select spirits which grant a passive stat modifier, and an active skill. The skill depends on what spirit you select from the ones you’ve unlocked.  If you decide to change which one you are using part way through your journey, you’ll have no resource for that spirit. Feel free to rest at a shrine to get the resource fully capped. It’s handy for when you’re farming an area and want something that counters the enemies. Or, you want to change your Spirit to try something new against a boss to get an advantage in the fight.

It saves you time having to grind mobs which is how the game tells you to get the resource originally.

Relics offer one-time use buffs when you get them. Make sure to select the one you want for your desired build path.

Relics are one-time buffs – so choose wisely

Relics are a feature in the game that is connected with the main storyline. As you get Relics, you’ll get special powers and bonuses to use. Each one has different effects. When you get your first one at the end of Chapter 1, you will get to see the system in play. Make sure to think about what build you want to play and how that works with your build before locking in your option. Otherwise, a mistake could have you regretting your choices

Start Exploring

Chapter 1’s exploration is fairly limited, but, you will find the odd optional boss and area wandering around. You are often rewarded with exploring too, as mini-bosses tend to drop different materials used for crafting items. Sometimes, you can get Spirits too, which are those special powers we mentioned.

Alternatively, you can find other items like Curios, Drink, Soaks, and other items and materials among your travels. You’ll even come across meditation spots, which grant Sparks. You’ll use Sparks as part of your build perks and passives so you definitely want to find these when you can.

Exploration and optional pathways are much more common in Chapter 2 for missable content and items. There’s much more freedom to play the game how you want to play it and explore for tasty rewards.

Exploring and speaking to NPCs grants good rewards and, items, and unlocks new features.

Complete NPC Quest

Completing NOC quests is a huge part of the game. Some will unlock new features, which are very important to progression., The Wolf for example unlocks celestial medicine crafting. This serves as the game’s attribute system to help specialize your build. Missing this is a huge handicap for your progression. In some instances, you can complete an NPC quest that gives you a special spirit to use and defeat a certain boss in Chapter 2. This makes a very hard fight much easier to do. So, again, NPC quests are very important for the game’s completion.
