Thanks to the Warbonds in Helldivers 2, you can officially change your Mech and Hellpod patterns. Along with this, you are now able to change the pattern of your pelican-1 as well. Of course, this is a newer feature in the game which means that there aren’t many skins to choose from at this moment. Fortunately, Arrowhead seems to be adding more patterns with additional ones appearing in the latest Warbond called Freedom’s Flame. Let’s break down how to change Mech and Hellpod patterns in Helldivers 2.
How to change your vehicle patterns in Helldivers 2
Before you can change your Exosuit and Hellpod patterns in Helldivers 2, you need to get your hands on some patterns. These are currently available in the Freedom’s Flame and Viper Commandos Warbonds. You only have the Undergrowth and Safety Orange patterns available for vehicles at this moment. If you don’t have these unlocked, complete missions to get medals so you can purchase them from the Warbond menu.
Now that you have some patterns unlocked, go to the ship management menu. This is done by interacting with the computers near the back of the ship where you spawn after completing a mission. Once you are in the menu, go to the section that says “vehicle customization.” From this menu, select the vehicle you want to change the pattern on. For us, we chose to change our Hellpod to the Safety Orange pattern.
Whatever vehicle you choose, you will see all of your unlocked patterns and skins on the right side of the screen. Select the skin that you would like equipped and it will be applied to your vehicle. Do this for each of your vehicles to make them look how you want. When you back out of the menu, whatever skin you have equipped will remain equipped for your vehicles when you enter a mission. You can change your vehicle patterns in between each mission.
