There are a few underrated weapons in Helldivers 2 and the Plas-101 Purifier is one of them. Often overlooked, this gun is similar to the Scorcher in many ways. It fires energy rounds that explode on impact, pushing enemies away from the centre of where the shot hits. Overall, the Purifier is a decent weapon for those who want to try it out. How to get the Plas-101 Purifier
To get your hands on the Plas-101 Purifier, you will need to unlock the Polar Patriots Warbond. This will cost you 1,000 Super Credits so you may need to farm them. Once you have enough credits, purchase the Warbond so you can start unlocking its different items. The Purifier is on the third page of the Warbond so you will need to spend well over 100 medals to reach it. When you reach the third page, you can purchase the Plas-101 Purifier for 80 medals.
How to use the Plas-101 Purifier
The Purifier is best used at medium range. Similar to the Scorcher, this weapon shoots energy blasts except they explode on impact, dealing slightly more damage than those fired by the Scorcher. The main difference between the two weapons is that the Purifier has a slightly slower fire rate. The explosive nature of the shots allows you to push enemies away from you, making the weapon useful for groups of smaller foes.
Is the Plas-101 Purifier good?
The Plas-101 Purifier is good in certain instances. When you have smaller groups of foes to deal with, the weapon can easily push tiny enemies around, making it useful for crowd control. The weapon has a more difficult time dealing with stronger/bigger foes, so it is best to avoid using the weapon against large enemies and have a strong backup weapon such as the GP-31 Grenade Pistol. It also helps to have strong stratagems.
