The Frozen Northern Pike is a melee weapon that players can sometimes find randomly from loot chests at POIS. However, if you actually want it as part of your build, such as a frozen vortex build, you need to get the blueprint. Here’s a closer look at how to get the Frozen Northern pike in Once Human.
Fishing at the docs of Meyer’s Market seems to give you a lot of chances to catch Northern Pike for your Frozen northern Pike grind.
How to get Frozen Northern Pike Frag blueprints
To get the Frozen Northern Pike Blueprint, you will need to fish. More importantly, you need to fish at least 10 Northern Pikes. You will also need a Northern Pike to craft the weapon, taking the total to 11.
You can pretty much fish anywhere you like. Most players report the best area to fish for the Northern pike is at the Meyer’s Market docks area. You can find it to the south of the zone. This large open body of water frequently shows the Northern Pike graphic in the area’s water. Do not fish in the river facing the northern entrance of Meyer’s Market, as you tend to get Sucker Fish and other blue and rarer quality fish.
Remember that you need a fishing rod and bait. You can get bait from the fishing stall on the Dock of Myeer’s Market, or any other fishing dock in the world map for that matter. Rough bait costs about 5 energy links each, while the regular bait costs 50 each. We recommend using bait as it seems to have a better chance of successful catch against rarer fish and the pike themselves. But, it could be a placebo effect. You cna also make it yourself from teh Supplies bench if you have the recipes unlocked and have the right materials at your base.
Once you have your ten Northern Pikes, you now need to the fishing dock area in Red Sands or the Blackzone. There’s a small fishing dock with a vendor on it to the west of Blackfell Dead Zone in Red Sands. Follow the map west to the small lake near the white sand next to the main city. You can also go to the fishing dock by the southeast border beach of the Blackzone that borders northeastern Red Sands.
Once you’re at the vendor, purchase the recipe and you can then unlock the blueprint in your melee weapons blueprint tab. You can now make the Frozen Northern Pike at your weapon’s bench.
