Netball Manawatu is the governing body for netball in the Manawatu-Whanganui region of New Zealand. It is responsible for organizing and administering netball competitions, coaching, and development programs within the region.

History

Netball Manawatu was established in 1927 as the Manawatu Netball Association. The association was initially responsible for organizing and administering netball competitions in the Manawatu region. In 2004, the association merged with the Whanganui Netball Association to form Netball Manawatu-Whanganui. In 2018, the association reverted to its original name, Netball Manawatu.

Competitions

Netball Manawatu organizes and administers a range of netball competitions, including:

* Senior Club Competition

* Junior Club Competition

* School Competition

* Representative Competition

The Senior Club Competition is the premier netball competition in the Manawatu-Whanganui region. It is contested by 10 teams from across the region. The Junior Club Competition is open to players aged 17 and under. It is contested by teams from across the region. The School Competition is open to secondary school teams. It is contested by teams from across the region. The Representative Competition is open to representative teams from Manawatu-Whanganui. It is contested by teams from across the region.

Coaching and Development

Netball Manawatu provides a range of coaching and development programs to support netball players and coaches in the region. These programs include:

* Coaching Courses

* Player Development Programs

* Umpiring Courses

The Coaching Courses are designed to provide coaches with the skills and knowledge to coach netball at all levels. The Player Development Programs are designed to help players improve their skills and knowledge of the game. The Umpiring Courses are designed to provide umpires with the skills and knowledge to umpire netball at all levels.

Representative Teams

Netball Manawatu selects and manages representative teams to compete in national and international competitions. These teams include:

* Manawatu-Whanganui Beko Netball League Team

* Manawatu-Whanganui Under 21 Team

* Manawatu-Whanganui Under 17 Team

The Manawatu-Whanganui Beko Netball League Team competes in the Beko Netball League, which is the premier netball competition in New Zealand. The Manawatu-Whanganui Under 21 Team competes in the National Under 21 Netball Championship. The Manawatu-Whanganui Under 17 Team competes in the National Under 17 Netball Championship.
