History

talkSPORT was launched on October 14, 2000, as a successor to the London-based radio station Talk Radio UK. The station was initially owned by the Wireless Group, which was acquired by UTV Media in 2005. In 2016, UTV Media was acquired by News UK, which is a subsidiary of News Corporation.
