Some of the content in the new Kleine Zeitung app is only available with a digital or smartphone subscription. An in-app purchase is possible.

SMARTPHONE SUBSCRIPTION
Those with a smartphone subscription can read all of the content in the app. The price per month for the smartphone subscription is EUR 2.99.

The subscription is automatically renewed if you do not deactivate the automatic subscription renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the term. You can do this in your Google Play settings (Google Play Store - Menu - Account - Subscriptions - Cancel subscription).

Kleine Zeitung clearly states the following information regarding the smartphone subscription:
- Subscription: smartphone
- Duration: monthly subscription
- Price: € 2.99 per month
- Payment is made in the Google Play Store and will be invoiced when the purchase is confirmed.
- The current monthly contributions are paid in advance. The amount will be billed 24 hours before the end of the current term.
- The subscription is automatically renewed. The subscription must be canceled at least 24 hours before the start of the next term in the smartphone settings: Google Play Store - Menu - Account - Subscriptions - Cancel subscription.
- Unused services of a free test phase expire as soon as the user buys a subscription.

Kleine Zeitung is a daily newspaper published in Graz, Austria. Founded in 1900, it is the largest daily newspaper in Styria and the second-largest in Austria. The newspaper is owned by Mediaprint, a subsidiary of the Styria Media Group.

History

Kleine Zeitung was founded on January 1, 1900, by a group of Catholic intellectuals led by Ferdinand August Schmidt. The newspaper was originally intended to be a mouthpiece for the Catholic Church in Styria, but it quickly became a more general-interest publication.

In the 1930s, Kleine Zeitung was one of the few newspapers in Austria that opposed the Nazi regime. As a result, the newspaper was banned by the Nazis in 1938. After the war, Kleine Zeitung was relaunched in 1945.

Content

Kleine Zeitung covers a wide range of topics, including local, national, and international news, as well as sports, business, and culture. The newspaper also publishes a number of supplements, including a weekly magazine, a business magazine, and a real estate magazine.

Circulation

Kleine Zeitung has a circulation of around 250,000 copies per day. The newspaper is distributed throughout Styria, as well as in neighboring regions of Austria.

Ownership

Kleine Zeitung is owned by Mediaprint, a subsidiary of the Styria Media Group. The Styria Media Group is a privately held company that also owns a number of other newspapers, magazines, and radio stations in Austria.

Criticism

Kleine Zeitung has been criticized for its conservative political stance. The newspaper has also been accused of being too close to the Catholic Church.

Awards

Kleine Zeitung has won a number of awards for its journalism, including the Austrian Newspaper of the Year award in 2004 and 2005.
