Overview

Legal Eagle is a competitive card game for 2-4 players, designed by Mark C. Tetlow and published by Eagle-Gryphon Games in 2015. Players take on the roles of lawyers, building their cases and presenting them in court to win trials.

Gameplay

The game consists of three phases:

1. Case Building:

- Players draft cards to build their case.

- Cards represent evidence, witnesses, and legal arguments.

- Players can also hire assistants to help them.

2. Trial:

- Players take turns presenting their cases to a jury.

- They play evidence cards, call witnesses, and make arguments.

- The jury votes on the verdict, and the player with the most votes wins.

3. Jury Deliberation:

- If the jury is split, they deliberate until they reach a verdict.

- Players can use persuasion cards to influence the jury's decision.

Winning

The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. Victory points are awarded for winning trials, hiring assistants, and playing special cards.

Strategy

Legal Eagle requires strategic thinking and a good understanding of the law. Players must:

- Build a strong case with compelling evidence and arguments.

- Anticipate the opposing case and prepare counterarguments.

- Use assistants effectively to support their case.

- Persuade the jury to their side.

Variations

The game offers several variations to enhance gameplay:

- Civil Trials: Focuses on financial disputes and uses a different set of rules.

- Expert Witnesses: Introduces expert witnesses who provide special abilities.
