Overview

WLKY is a local television station serving Louisville, Kentucky, and the surrounding area. It is affiliated with the CBS network and broadcasts on channel 32. WLKY is owned by Gray Television and is part of the company's CBS Television Stations division.

History

WLKY first went on the air on September 27, 1956, as WQXL-TV. The station was originally owned by the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times newspapers. In 1979, WQXL-TV was sold to Multimedia Broadcasting Company. Multimedia merged with Gray Television in 2015.

Programming

WLKY broadcasts a variety of local and national programming. The station's local newscasts are a major source of news and information for Louisville and the surrounding area. WLKY also produces a number of local programs, including the lifestyle show "Good Day Live" and the investigative journalism program "In Depth."

In addition to its local programming, WLKY also broadcasts a variety of syndicated programs, including "Jeopardy!," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Dr. Phil." The station also airs CBS network programming, such as "60 Minutes," "NCIS," and "Survivor."

WLKY's signal reaches over 1.3 million households in Kentucky and Indiana. The station's coverage area includes Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Owensboro, and Evansville.
