Objective:

The goal of It's Just a Phase® is to be the first player to collect a set of three cards of the same type (e.g., three blue cards, three yellow cards, etc.) while simultaneously avoiding collecting three cards of the same phase (e.g., three full moons, three eclipses, etc.).

Gameplay:

The game begins with each player drawing five cards from the deck. On their turn, a player must draw a card from the deck and then discard a card from their hand. If the drawn card matches a card in the player's hand, they must discard it immediately.

Phases:

There are three different phases in the game:

* New Moon: This phase represents the beginning of a new cycle. If a player draws a New Moon card, they can exchange all of their cards for new ones from the deck.

* Full Moon: This phase represents the peak of a cycle. If a player draws a Full Moon card, they must discard all of their cards and draw new ones from the deck.

* Eclipse: This phase represents the end of a cycle. If a player draws an Eclipse card, they lose all of their cards and must draw new ones from the deck.

Scoring:

Players score points by collecting sets of three cards of the same type. However, if a player collects three cards of the same phase, they lose all of their cards and their turn ends.

Winning:

The first player to collect a set of three cards of the same type wins the game.

Strategy:

To win It's Just a Phase®, players must carefully manage their hands and plan their moves strategically. They should aim to draw cards that match their existing sets while avoiding drawing cards that complete phases. Players can also use the New Moon card to reset their hand and the Full Moon card to eliminate potential threats.
