Hollywood Group is an engaging board game that transports players into the glamorous world of filmmaking. Designed for 2-4 players, the game challenges players to produce the most successful films while navigating the cutthroat competition of the entertainment industry.

Gameplay:

Players assume the roles of studio executives and compete to create the most profitable movies. The game consists of six rounds, each representing a year in Hollywood. During each round, players bid on scripts, hire actors and directors, and market their films to secure distribution deals.

Bidding for Scripts:

The game begins with an auction where players bid on a variety of scripts. Each script has a unique genre, budget, and potential box office earnings. Players must carefully consider their financial resources and the market demand for different genres to make strategic bidding decisions.

Hiring Actors and Directors:

Once players have acquired scripts, they can hire actors and directors to bring their films to life. Actors have different star power ratings, which influence the box office earnings of films. Directors have special abilities that can enhance film production, such as increasing revenue or reducing production costs.

Marketing and Distribution:

After hiring a cast and crew, players must market their films to secure distribution deals. They can spend money on advertising campaigns to increase the film's awareness and negotiate with distributors to secure favorable terms.

Film Release and Box Office Earnings:

Once a film is released, players roll dice to determine its box office performance. The film's genre, star power, and marketing efforts all influence its earnings. Players earn money based on the film's success and can use their profits to invest in future projects.

Player Elimination and Victory:

The game ends after six rounds. Players tally their total earnings, and the player with the most money is declared the winner. However, if a player goes bankrupt during the game, they are eliminated.
