Equicity is a board game for 2-4 players, designed by Phil Eklund and Chris Cole. It simulates the challenges of urban planning and economic development in a growing city. Players take on the roles of developers, competing to build the most prosperous and sustainable city while balancing the needs of residents, businesses, and the environment.

Gameplay:

The game is played on a hexagonal map representing the city. Each player starts with a limited amount of money and resources. On their turn, players can take various actions, such as:

* Purchasing Land: Players can buy vacant land to develop.

* Building Zones: Players can designate different zones on their land, such as residential, commercial, or industrial.

* Constructing Buildings: Players can build various buildings within their zones, including houses, factories, schools, and parks.

* Investing in Infrastructure: Players can improve their city's infrastructure by building roads, bridges, and utilities.

* Managing Resources: Players must carefully manage their resources, including money, population, and energy.

City Development:

As players develop their cities, they must consider the needs of different stakeholders:

* Residents: Residents require housing, jobs, and access to services such as education and healthcare.

* Businesses: Businesses need access to land, labor, and infrastructure to thrive.

* Environment: Players must balance economic growth with environmental sustainability, managing pollution and resource consumption.

Economic Competition:
