Htwet Toe is a traditional Burmese board game played with two players. The game is played on a 9x9 board with black and white pieces. The goal of the game is to capture all of your opponent's pieces or to block them from making any legal moves.

Setup

The game begins with each player placing their pieces on the board. Each player has 20 pieces, which are placed on the two rows closest to their side of the board. The pieces are placed in a alternating pattern, with black pieces on the black squares and white pieces on the white squares.

Gameplay

The players take turns moving their pieces one square at a time. Pieces can move forward, backward, left, or right. Pieces can capture an opponent's piece by landing on the same square as it. Captured pieces are removed from the board.

Special Moves

There are two special moves in Htwet Toe:

* Pawn Promotion: If a pawn reaches the opposite side of the board, it is promoted to a king. Kings can move any number of squares in any direction.

* Castling: If the king and one of the rooks have not moved, the king can castle. Castling involves moving the king two squares towards a rook, and then moving the rook over the king.

Winning

The game is won by the player who captures all of their opponent's pieces or blocks them from making any legal moves.
