Ahazou is a strategy board game for two players that combines elements of deduction, logic, and hidden information. The game's objective is to be the first player to identify and capture all of their opponent's pieces while keeping their own pieces concealed.

Gameplay:

The game is played on a 5x5 grid with each player having 12 pieces, represented by colored pawns. The pieces are initially placed on the board in a random configuration, with each player's pieces placed on their respective side of the grid.

Players take turns moving one of their pieces one space horizontally or vertically. Pieces cannot move diagonally or jump over other pieces. The unique aspect of Ahazou is that players do not reveal the colors of their pieces to their opponent. Instead, they use deduction and logic to infer the colors of their opponent's pieces based on their movements.

Deduction and Logic:

Players must pay close attention to their opponent's moves and the resulting interactions between pieces. By observing which pieces can capture or block each other, players can eliminate possibilities and narrow down the potential colors of their opponent's pieces. For example, if a player moves a piece that cannot capture any visible pieces, it is likely that the opponent's piece that it is trying to capture is the same color as the moving piece.

Bluffing and Deception:

Ahazou also incorporates elements of bluffing and deception. Players can strategically move their pieces to mislead their opponent about the colors of their pieces. For example, a player may move a piece that appears to be vulnerable but is actually protected by a hidden piece of the same color.

Capture and Victory:

When a player's piece moves to a space occupied by an opponent's piece, they capture that piece and remove it from the board. The captured piece's color is revealed, providing additional information to both players. The game continues until one player captures all of their opponent's pieces, achieving victory.
