Talk to Antonio

Antonio tells you that Father Ventura has had his Blackshirts confiscate the diary along with a number of other texts he has deemed forbidden. They have been taken to a room in the Apostolic Palace, and are being held under guard. Antonio tells you that you can gain access by going through the sewers under the Tower of Nicholas V, and gives you a key to the sewers.

Then head down the stairs into the sewers. there is a photo opportunity immediately as you enter.

Discovery Note #17: Sewer Bridge

Directly below where you entered the sewers, there’s a wooden scaffold with a sledgehammer leaning against the wall. Knock out the sleeping Blackshirt, then bust down the wall behind him to reveal a passage into a part of the sewer that isn’t on the map.

Follow the tunnel and duck under two half open gates. In the room on the other side, an artifact waits under the water.

Discovery Note #18: Bronze Mirror (10 AP)

Head back to the unconscious Blackshirt and then open the nearby gate with the Sewers Key.

Follow the sewers until you reach a large round chamber with deep water at the bottom. Jump across the debris to the other side, then look for a pipe you can climb up on. Shimmy to the right until you can climb up, then continue to shimmy.

Near the end of the pipe it will break, and you’ll be able to climb out into the center of the room, where you’ll be in range for you to whip to a set of pipes hanging from the ceiling.

From there, swing from your whip until you can jump across to another set of pipes. Climb up to the top, then shimmy to the right where there’s a wooden platform. Whip to a second platform, then whip to the pipe just below the ceiling. Swing over to the last platform and climb up. While here, grab a photo of one of the inscriptions for Antonio.

Go to the bookcase on the north side of the room and pull on the books in this order: crown, triangle, wheel, sun. This will activate the mechanism and a secret panel will raise a stack of cash (120₤) and a note. Picking up the note will finish A Snake in the Garden and earn 100 AP.

Mystery Note #6: Mussolini’s Letter

With that accomplished, it’s time to return to the Sistine Chapel to deliver the diary to Sister Catherine to finish the mission.

This finishes The Mad Priest Fieldwork side quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
