The Golden Idol is a main quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Golden Idol main mission.
This is the first mission you’ll get in the game, and it cleverly adapts the opening scenes of Raiders of the Lost Ark into a tutorial that covers most of what you’ll need to know in the game. This walkthrough will not cover all of the tutorial messages you receive during the mission, but the controls are always available in your Options/Menu screen.
There are no collectibles in this mission.
Enter the Blood Temple
Follow your guides to the Blood Temple, deep in the jungles of South America. Alternately you can press Touchpad/View-Button at any time to bring up your map and show the objective marker.
Follow your guides, your map, or the path and you’ll reach the Blood Temple (and learn how to play the game too).
Locate the Golden Fertility Idol
Once inside it’s a straight shot to the idol. Though to get there, you’ll have to disarm a set of pressure plates. Aim at those plates with a black dot in the middle and you’ll get a contextual prompt to press 
/ 
. Doing so will disable a couple rows of plates allowing you to continue. Repeat the process until you reach the idol.
Finally there, you’ll get to replay the character defining moment where Indiana Jones tries to gauge the idol’s weight in sand. You have a prompt to press 
to adjust the weight, but no matter what you do the events will play out the same way.
Escape the Temple
Having grabbed the idol, you will have to run for your life. Just as you’re about to reach the doorway and leave the temple, Jones will trip and fall and seemingly get crushed by the giant boulder rolling after him. Before you can say “that didn’t happen in the movie”, Jones will wake up and realize it was all a dream. Now the real game can begin.
