Before we start making modules, we must prepare the tools first and see if you are all ready. The tools we need to prepare include Blender, InZOI ModKit and picture editing software (Photoshop or GIMP).
Install Blender
Blender is a free and open source 3D creation suite. It integrates many functions such as modeling, engraving, UV mapping, texture drawing, binding, animation, rendering, motion tracking, video editing and synthesis.
Blender is widely used in the production of animated short films, movies, visual effects, art works, interactive 3D applications and video games with its powerful features and cross-platform features.
There are many ways to install Blender, such as downloading the installation package from the official website, downloading it from the Microsoft Store, or installing it from Steam.
Method 1: Download the installation package from the official website of Blender
1. Visit the Blender official website: First open your browser, enter https://www.bleender.org/download/ in the address bar and press Enter to enter the download page of the Blender official website
2. Download the installation package: Click the blue Download Blender button in the middle of the page, and the installation file (blender-x.x.x-windows-x64.msi) will start downloading. The file size will be relatively large, please be patient.
3. Run the installer: After the download is completed, find the downloaded .msi file (usually in your "Download" folder) and double-click to run it.
4. Follow the installation wizard prompts:
Welcome interface: Click "Next".
Installation path: Click "Next".
Prepare for installation: Click "Install" to start the installation. You may need to provide administrator permissions.
Complete the installation: The installation process may take several minutes. When finished, click "Finish" to exit the installation wizard.
6. Start Blender: After the installation is completed, you can find the shortcut to Blender in the Start menu, or find its icon on the desktop, and double-click to start.
Method 2: Install Blender from the Microsoft Store
The advantage of installing Blender through the Microsoft Store is that it is easy to install and applications can be updated automatically.
1. Open Microsoft Store: Click the Microsoft Store icon on the taskbar, or search for "Microsoft Store" in the Start menu and open it.
2. Search for Blender: Enter "Blender" in the search bar at the top of the Microsoft Store, and press Enter.
3. Install Blender: Find the "Blender" application in the search results and click the "Free Install" button in the upper right corner.
4. Wait for download and installation: Microsoft Store will automatically download and install Blender. This process is automatic and you don't need to do any manual operations.
5. Start Blender: After the installation is completed, the button will change to "Open". You can start Blender by clicking "Open" directly, or find a shortcut to Blender in the Start menu.
Method 3: Install Blender from Steam
Installing Blender through Steam is also a convenient option for gamers or developers who are used to using the Steam platform, and Steam can manage updates and versions.
1. Install and start the Steam client: If you have not installed Steam yet, please download and install the Steam client from https://store.steampowered.com/about/. After the installation is complete, start Steam and log in to your account.
2. Search for Blender: Enter "Blender" in the search bar at the top of the Steam store page, and press Enter.
3. Enter the Blender page: Find the "Blender" application in the search results and click to enter its store page.
4. Add to the library and install:
On Blender's store page, find "Free". Click on it and Blender will be added to your Steam library.
Once added, Steam will ask you if you install it immediately. Click the "Install" button.
Select the installation location: You can select the installation path, usually the default path is. Click Next or Continue.
Wait for download: Steam will start downloading Blender. You can view the download progress in the Download Manager at the bottom of the Steam client.
6. Start Blender: After the download is completed, you can find Blender in the Steam library. Select Blender and click the "Start" button to start.
Install InZOI ModKit
InZOI ModKit is the official module creation tool provided by InZOI. It is modified based on the Ureal Engine 4.4 engine. It adds many functions that can easily create InZOI modules based on Unreal Engine. If you are familiar with Unreal Engine, ModKit will be a piece of cake for you.
1. Install and start Epic Games Launcher: If you don't have Epic Games Launcher yet, please visit https://www.epicgames.com/store/download to download and install it.
2. Search InZOI ModKit: In the search box on the store page, enter "InZOI ModKit" and press Enter. In search results, you will see the entry for InZOI ModKit. Click it to go to the product page.
3. Get InZOI ModKit: On the ModKit product page, you will see a "Get" button. ModKit is free, click this button to add it to your Epic Games library.
4. Go to your library: In the navigation bar on the left of Epic Games Launcher, click "Library".
5. Find InZOI ModKit: In your list of games and applications, scroll to find "InZOI ModKit".
6. Start the installation: After finding ModKit, you will see a "Install" button. Click on it. Download and install according to the prompts. After the download is completed, ModKit will be automatically installed.
7. Start InZOI ModKit: After the installation is completed, you will see InZOI ModKit in the Quick Launch in the navigation bar on the left side of Epic Games Launcher, click it to start.
