Introduction
Welcome to the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Trophy Guide! Death Stranding 2 continues from the story of the first game, with Sam and Lou having disappeared from the UCA and moving south near Mexico. You then make your way across Mexico and Australia, connecting new facilities as you go.
Trophy-wise the list is very similar to the first game, requiring you to connect all Facilities and reach maximum connection level with them. There are no collectibles this time, so the main focus outside of the story is on the Facility Connection levels. You have more tools at your disposal and the map is set up in a much nicer way overall, with more roads and monorails to make your time transporting cargo quicker and more optimized.
You are required to earn a total of 30 S ranks on Standard Orders on Casual difficulty or above (10 each in three different categories), similar to the requirement in the first game.
Step 1: Complete the Story while Connecting All Facilities
First you should focus on completing the story, along with connecting all optional Facilities along the way. Some Main Orders require you to go back to prior locations as you progress, so connecting the Optional Facilities as you go is recommended for the increased network coverage. You can work on Connection Levels for extra unlocks, but it’s not recommended to go out of your way to level all Facilities to maximum before the end of the story. After the story you have the ability to reduce the threat of BTs and other enemies, which makes longer orders and later areas easier to deal with.
Time-Savers while playing through the story:
- When you connect facilities always take all Chiral Crystals from their material supplies. There doesn’t seem to be a limit to the number you can carry, and for each 1000cg you carry you increase Sam’s weight capacity by 1 kg. When manufacturing items it will take them directly out of Sam’s inventory if needed, so you don’t need to manually transfer them back.
- If you are going between Facilities you’ve already unlocked check for cargo from other players that might be going to the same location to earn extra Likes.
- Make use of the Quick Save feature if you are worried about fights or traversing a dangerous area. Quick Save is done by pressing
in the Ring Terminal menu.
- Make use of the DHV Magellan, it functions as a movable facility where you can rest up, store materials and manufacture items, or transport yourself to the other landing zones. The only punishment for using the Magellan is if you transport Standard Order items on it, you won’t receive a grade for that order, and you can’t transport people or animals. Otherwise you can use it for transporting basically anything as long as you aren’t blocked by story events.
- When you gain the ability to make a Tri-Cruiser and a Pickup Off-Roader, make one of each with the customizations that you prefer to keep with you throughout the game. You can move your vehicles around and repair them in the DHV Magellan.
- Make use of the Coffin Board. This is a unique vehicle that is unlocked halfway through the story when you connect The Mechanic to the Chiral Network. This is constructed from the Tools fabrication menu, and floats above ground and water like you are riding a surfboard, allowing you to get around very quickly. It only works within the Chiral Network though, which is why you want to connect optional Facilities as you progress the story to have full network coverage.
Step 2: Facility Connection Level & Cleanup
Once you’ve completed the story you will be in Episode 17, which functions as a post-game. All areas will still be available to you. Finish maxing out the connection levels on all Facilities. This will unlock most of the remaining trophies along the way. Also clean up remaining miscellaneous trophies to earn the platinum.

Standard Porter Complete a standard order for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded once you complete a Standard Order for the first time with any rating.
Standard Orders become available in Episode 3 once you connect the Western Environmental Observatory to the Chiral Network. They can then be accepted from the Delivery Terminal at Facilities. |
||
![]() |
Seasoned Porter Complete 10 deliveries, 10 recoveries, 10 elimination/destruction standard orders with an S rank in Casual difficulty or above. |
![]() |
This trophy requires you to earn a total of 30 S Ranks on standard orders on Casual difficulty or higher. 10 in each category of delivery, with Elimination and Destruction being counted together due to there being much fewer of them. S Ranks can be earned on Story difficulty but these don’t count, so you will be earning the Legend ranks awarded when playing on Casual, Normal, or Brutal. Unlike the first game there is no “Premium Delivery” extra requirement, you just need to complete the order within the stated requirement to earn the top rank.
Order types:
You cannot see in-game how many of each order type you have completed with what rating, but you can use the Search options in the Orders menu to list out specific orders with multiple search options. This will let you search for only standard orders, then by objective. The menu will then show you the starting point for the order, and whether or not it is currently available or on standby.

Helping People to Connect Complete an aid request for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for completing any aid request for the first time. Aid requests are small objectives posted by NPCs or other online players. Most NPC requests require you to recover specific cargo, defeat BTs or MULEs, or place down structures in specific locations. Online player requests can be to provide tools, deliver cargo, create structures, or defeat enemies. Complete any request for either NPCs or a player to earn this trophy.
Current aid requests can be viewed in the pause menu under the Aid Requests option. This menu lists all currently available aid requests, and lists their requirement along with showing their location. |

Promising Signs Construct an online aid request sign for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is earned by placing an online aid request for the first time. Online aid requests allow you to request another player to do something for you in exchange for likes, such as provide tools or materials at a specific location. You must be connected to the network to place these requests, you cannot place them if you are offline.

Master Builder Build every structure type, including tools, deployable shields, electric traps and any sign. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for building every type of structure for the first time. There are a total of 18 structures you need to construct: 12 PCC structures, 3 tools, 2 weapons, and any sign. Structures are unlocked through story progression, facility connection level, and one optional objective to unlock the Hot Spring Digger, see Spring Into Life ![]() In the Social Strand Service menu and viewing your profile under Bridge Links, you can view gameplay statistics which track how many structures you have built. The only two not tracked in this menu are the Hot Spring Digger and the Deployable Shield, so for completing the trophy you would need to make sure you have all 17 slots filled in this menu, and then make a Deployable Shield along with having earned the trophy Spring Into Life for constructing a Hot Spring Digger. If you don’t want to go out of your way to make structures just for this trophy, you can complete the NPC aid requests where you will build most structures, which also contributes Likes toward the requesting facility’s connection level. 12 PCC Structures:

Connecting Hearts and Minds Maximize your connection level with all facilities. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for reaching maximum connection level (= level 5) with all 42 facilities. Facility connection level is increased by receiving Likes from the Facility by completing orders ending at that facility, delivering lost cargo, or completing Aid Requests. Some optional facilities also have extra Sub Orders that you need to complete at certain levels to keep increasing their connection. These typically become available when the current level is filled to around 80% and stops, and you will receive an SSS message from the Facility when they have a new sub order that they want you to complete.
» Facility Locations and Unlocks While working on deliveries for a specific facility you can use the Search section in the Orders menu to search orders by specific destination, as well as view whether they are currently available or still on standby after you have already completed them.
You can repeat already completed Standard Orders for the same number of Likes over and over once they become available again, but note that the number of Likes you receive is affected by factors such as the distance from pickup to delivery destination, the number or weight of cargo, and whether you interacted (defeated/stayed in stealth) with enemies during the order. Most locations you won’t need to go out of your way for, but some optional locations such as Mr. Impossible have few orders, so you are better off repeating orders with high weight requirements for the most Likes at these locations. Make sure you’ve enabled the APAS Enhancement “Faster Order Preparation” to reduce the time that Standard Orders are on standby after they are complete.
|
||
![]() |
Self-Improvement Activate an APAS enhancement for the first time. |
![]() |
APAS enhancements become available during Episode 3 once you are ready to set off in Australia. These are extra features or abilities that you can enable or disable to help you out during the game and while making deliveries. Enhancements are typically unlocked by increasing your Porter Grade in each of the 5 categories, up to level 40. There are also a handful unlocked through story progression and by increasing connection level with certain facilities (notably BPAS who give a unique enhancement at each connection level). Increasing connection level with Facilities also increases your available memory, which allows you to enable more enhancements at once.
Once you unlock an enhancement it can be enabled or disabled through the APAS Enhancements menu at any time as long as you are in an area covered by the Chiral Network. You aren’t required to unlock and use all Enhancements, but the majority are beneficial on your journey so you should activate ones you think will be helpful to you. Once you increase your connection level with all facilities there is more than enough memory bandwidth to activate all 48 enhancements at once if you wish. |

Creature Comforter Deliver a wild animal to the Animal Shelter for the first time. (Animals required to complete orders do not count.) |
![]() |
To earn this trophy, you must capture an animal and return it to the Animal Shelter outside of the ones required by Main or Sub orders. Capturing animals is unlocked with Main Order 15 at the start of Episode 4 when you reach the Animal Shelter. After this is unlocked, you can capture other animals and take them to the Animal Shelter at any time. Animals appear throughout Australia and will show up with a blue outline when scanned with the Odradek.
If you want to find an animal and get this out of the way early, the easiest to find are Koalas. You can find a bunch of them either in trees or on the ground beside trees in the valley between Rainbow Valley and the Animal Shelter.

![]() |
Rare Specimen Rescuer Deliver an albino animal to the Animal Shelter for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for delivering an albino animal to the Animal Shelter for the first time. Albino animals are unique versions of the other animals that will be almost entirely white, and only exist once in the game world. Bringing at least one of these back to the Animal Shelter to earn this trophy.
There are at least 4 albino animals in the game, with three of the locations being given to you if you complete the Aid Requests for The Pioneer. They will ask you to bring them animal material from 3 locations, which are also the locations of the albino kangaroo, lyrebird, and echidna. If you don’t want to complete these aid requests, the easiest to find albino animal is the kangaroo, which can be found in the desert area directly north of The Data Scientist. Because of it being a large animal it sticks out pretty easily within the desert area.

Road Restorer Restore one section of road. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for restoring any section of road for the first time. In Australia you can find Auto-Pavers spread throughout the continent which allow you to repair the road network that stretches around the country in the same manner as the first game. These won’t appear on your map to begin with, but will appear once you get close enough to scan them with the Odradek and then stay on the map permanently.
Restoring roads requires contributing Chiral Crystals, Metals, and Ceramics to the Auto-Paver terminal. Online player contributions also count toward each road, and once the total required amount has been contributed the section of road will be restored. Later in the game you can unlock the ability to upgrade roads to Lvl2 which adds a Timefall cover and increases the speed vehicles can travel on them, but this isn’t required for this trophy. You can view the current required number of materials for each Auto-Paver by moving the cursor over it on the map, or view the current durability of each road section if you have already restored it. |

Dig, Dig, Dig! Restore three mines. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for restoring any 3 of the mines located in Australia. Mines allow you to spend Chiral Crystals to mine for the other upgrade materials, giving any easy to way obtain large amounts of them at once. There are a total of 9 mines in the game, and you are required to restore certain ones to reopen the monorail lines.

Rail Restorer Restore and fully reopen a monorail line. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for fully restoring one of the three monorail lines located in Australia. The monorail lines run between certain Knots and Distribution Centers, allowing you to directly transport large amounts of materials, cargo, or vehicles along with yourself between each of the stops. Monorails are restored primarily by contributing to the Tracklayers which function in the same way as road Auto-Pavers, where you need to contribute materials to repair them and construct the section of track.
To earn the trophy though you need to restore a full monorail line, which also requires restoring any mine connected to the track, allowing you to move a monorail car between each stop. » Mine Locations West Monorail Line West Fort Knot (F1) > Mine North of F1 > F2 South Distribution Center > Mine near F3 Crater East Monorail Line South Fort Knot (F6) > Mine North of F6 > East Fort Knot (F4) > Northeastern Mine Central Monorail Line Terminal Fort Knot (F8) > F5 East Distribution Center > Mine North of Tar Lake |

Emergency Worker Deliver emergency support for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for completing an emergency support request for the first time. These requests automatically appear from NPC or player structures when they are damaged by the environment, and a request appears for them to be repaired. These display on the map as a yellow hammer icon over a structure. You can then go to any structure with this icon and contribute Chiral Crystals or the listed repair material to fix the structure and earn the trophy.

Spring into Life Dig a hot spring for the first time. |
![]() |
To dig a hot spring, you first need to reach The Motherhood facility in Episode 7. Outside is a hot spring you can bathe in, then choose the option to put the bucket on your head. This will take you to Heartman’s Lab where you can speak with The Hydrologist, who will add the Hot Spring Digger to the Lv2/3 PCC. You can then use this in specific locations to dig a hot spring. The Hydrologist marks a location west of Heartman’s Lab that you can use for the first one to earn the trophy.

This trophy is earned by trading with an NPC porter for the first time. Porters start appearing around Australia and Mexico after you complete Main Order 12 in Episode 3. Once they do, you can find them walking around, and if you go up to them they will sometimes offer you one of the items they are carrying by holding it in front of themselves. If they do, take it and add it to your inventory, then take an item you are carrying and drop it. Once the other Porter picks up the item you dropped, you will be awarded the trophy.

A Private Show! Watch a live performance in your private room. |
![]() |
To watch a live performance you first need the ability to listen to music in your private room, which is unlocked after you have connected The Musician to the Chiral Network during Episode 3. You must then be in the room on the DHV Magellan (private rooms at Facilities don’t work) and play the song “Horizon Dreamer” by Daichi Miura which you obtain by linking The Musician to the network. Once you do this, look over at Dollman sitting by the door and he should be dancing along. Interact with him and he asks if you have a moment, to which you need to agree to see the live performance. You can watch the whole thing if you want, or back out immediately and still unlock the trophy.

This trophy is awarded for arriving at the F3 Crater for the first time, located in the direct north point of the map, north of Heartman’s Lab.
There are two ways you can go about getting to the F3 Crater, an early optional way, or a required later way. If you want to go out there early, you can drive across the tar using the Coffin Board that is unlocked after connecting The Mechanic to the Chiral Network. You can then ride the Coffin Board to the cliffs around the crater, and the trophy will be awarded once you reach the top of the cliff overlooking the crater. If you want to wait until you are required to come here, you will be transported to the crater when you complete Sub Order 121, which is required to max the connection level for the facility The Adventurer. |

BT’s Best Friend Capture a large BT for the first time. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for capturing a BT with an EX Capture Grenade for the first time. These are unlocked automatically after completing Main Order 033 in Episode 8 of the story. You can use these grenades on weakened “large” BTs (Catchers, Bestia) to capture them, allowing you to pick up a crystal that allows you to summon the BT to attack other BTs.
The first opportunity you can use this is on Main Order 033 immediately after you receive the grenades. If you go straight across to the objective you’ll encounter an area where a few Bestia BTs will spawn. Damage one of them until its health is red, then throw a grenade directly at its mouth to capture it and earn the trophy. Make sure to pick up the crystal after to allow you to summon the BT from the Special section of the Weapons/Tools menu. Once you capture a BT you keep the crystal forever. Summoning it costs chiral crystals, so make sure to capture new BTs when you come across them. |

Conqueror of the Golden CC Defeat the golden chiral creature. |
![]() |
Golden chiral creatures are gold versions of the black blobs, also referred to as Rodent Chiral Creatures in-game.
You can find these in locations that have high chiral density, where there is typically tar floating out of the ground and a large number of Chiral Crystals. Shooting the golden one from a distance causes it to spawn a large number of Chiral Crystals you can pick up, along with ordering the trophy. There are many locations like this throughout the game where they can potentially spawn, but two early locations where you can find them frequently are near the Mine North of F1, or near the Animal Shelter. Outside the front of the mine is an area with a bunch of tar pools, and typically a large number of Chiral Crystals. On the east of the entrance where the tar pools are, you can generally find one blob moving around.
Another location is southeast of the Animal Shelter in the area where there are a few tar pools. There are typically a few groups of the normal blobs near the pools, but also a few of the gold blobs moving around.

A Premier Porter Achieve a porter grade of 40 or higher in all categories. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for achieving a porter grade of 40 or higher in each of the 5 categories you are graded on, as shown in the star graphic that appears in your SSS profile and after turning in a delivery when you are shown your porter grade.
The five categories are:
Porter and Servicemanship are relatively easy to level, and you should complete both while working through the story and increasing connection level with all facilities, along with delivering lost cargo, completing roads/monorails to make your deliveries easier. Bridge Link might seem difficult early on and like it will require a lot of player interaction, but the easy way to gain a lot of Likes in Bridge Link is by finishing off restoration of Roads and Monorails by contributing materials. It will then show in other players’ games that you contributed to their roads/monorails, and whenever they drive on the roads or use the monorail it will give you likes. You can also do things like place helpful Signs in the center of ramps leading into Knots/Distribution Centers, as most players will walk through the Signs and trigger them which awards you Likes. You can also check facilities for other players lost cargo and deliver it for them, which gives Likes toward the facility and Servicemanship along with Bridge Link. Combat and Stealth take the longest to level, as there aren’t many Combat-related orders early in the game, which makes it seem very slow. Later in the game you have many more combat Main Orders which give a lot of Likes toward these categories so you don’t need to stress about it, but if you want to level it earlier to unlock the extra APAS Enhancements you can earn Combat and Stealth bonuses by dealing with enemies while delivering normal orders. Taking out enemies gives Likes for Combat even if the order didn’t specifically require it, and the closer you are to enemy areas during an order without being detected the more Stealth Likes you will receive. |

Compulsive Cargo Carrier Deliver a total of 500 pieces of cargo. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for delivering a cumulative total of 500 pieces of cargo, then viewing the results screen after completing an order. This is the longest of the three cumulative trophies to obtain, as most early orders don’t include a large number of cargo items, over the course of the game and while completing connection levels you will likely deliver near 2000 or more pieces of cargo.

Heavy Lifter Deliver cargo weighing a total of two tons. |

This trophy is awarded for delivering a cumulative cargo weight of 2 tons (2,000 kg), then viewing the results screen after completing an order. You are very likely to earn this trophy in the first half of the story, as many sections include heavy deliveries. Over the course of the game while completing connection level you will likely deliver near 30 tons or more of cargo.

Long-Distance Lugger Reach a total distance traveled of 80km upon completion of an order. |
![]() |
This trophy is awarded for travelling a cumulative total of 80km (80,000 m), then viewing the results screen after completing an order. The map of Australia is approximately 7km x 6km so this may seem like a lot of distance, but during orders in the story you have a lot of back and forth travelling, so you will likely travel this distance around halfway through the game or even earlier if you decide to do Standard Orders as they become available. |
