"Dragon Quest III" is the last part of the "Lotor Trilogy" story line, and it is the first chapter in terms of plot timeline. The protagonist of the game is the child of Ortega, a brave warrior from the small country of Arakan. On his 16th birthday, the king told him a great mission to inherit the late Ortega's will, defeat the demon king Baramos who emerged from the dark kingdom, and embark on a journey to save the world.
