“The Zappy Shipwreck” side quest begins in Seesyde Village in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and involves a ship owner tasking you with clearing out an enemy jellyfish from his vessel. To complete the quest, you’ll need to locate his ship and defeat the boss hidden inside.
In this The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom guide, we’ll walk you through how to start “The Zappy Shipwreck,” where to find the ship, and how to defeat the boss within.
How to start ‘The Zappy Shipwreck’ quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Teleport to the Seesyde Village warp point and then walk over to the dock area. You’ll see a bald man standing atop his boat just after the gate that leads to the dock.
Climb up to the top of the boat and talk to him. He’ll tell you about his dream of owning a ship and how it’s being destroyed by a sea creature that resembles a jellyfish and is — most importantly — “zappy.”
Once you finish talking to him, you’ll receive “The Zappy Shipwreck” quest and he’ll mark the location of his ship on your map. Jump in the water and swim southwest. You’ll eventually come upon the boat.
Ignore the nearby shark and summon a water block to help you reach the boat’s main deck. Bind with the door on the right side of the boat and walk backward to break it, revealing the entrance. Jump inside to start this mini-dungeon.
‘Zappy’ jellyfish monster location in ‘The Zappy Shipwreck’
When you enter the ship you’ll find some enemies inside, surrounded by a bunch of crates. Take care of the enemies with Swordfighter Form or via your own creative means. Then start grabbing and breaking the boxes in the northeastern part of the map. Eventually, you’ll expose a doorway. Take it.
Head through the door in the next room to reach a room filled with water. Summon some flying allies to take out the foes in here and jump along the driftwood and crates to reach the other side of the room. Go through the southern doorway.
You’ll now find yourself in a room with a treasure chest and an underwater hole in the floor. Use the crates to reach the chest on the left bookshelf, which will earn you some rocktatoes. Dive into the underwater hole to reach a 2D section of the mini-dungeon. Swim down and summon some aquatic allies to deal with the enemies. Keep along the ocean’s floor here to find a chest that grants a purple rupee. Keep heading left, defeating any enemies you run into, until you reach the exit in the northwestern corner of the map.
You’ll find yourself in a bunk room filled with beds. On the left side of the room is a chest, where you can get some electro apples. Also on the left side of the room is a piece of the wall that’s missing a chunk. Use the various beds and tables around the room to create a staircase and jump through the hole.
Once you land in the water below, use Bind on the statue on the other side of the gate and carry it over to the button on the left side of the screen. Drop the statue on the switch to open the gate (use some water blocks to make getting the statue to the upper platform easier).
Head through the door and defeat the enemies inside with Swordfighter form or whatever summons you wish. Open the chest on the east side of the room for a red rupee and then head up the stairs. On the next floor, walk into the room with the purple carpet and you’ll find the jellyfish monster.
How to beat the jellyfish boss in ‘The Zappy Shipwreck’
For this fight, you need to get rid of all the little jellyfish on the outside so you can expose the big monster in the middle. Using a ranged summon here is great — something like the boomerang boarblin. Keep your distance from the monster while your summons take out its pawns, as it’ll occasionally create a big lightning explosion around it.
Once all the little jellyfish are down, swap to Swordfighter Form to deal some damage to the boss. Once you deal enough damage, it’ll resummon its tiny jellyfish. Repeat the strategy until the beast is dead. Grab the Piece of the Heart and all the rupees it drops, then take the warp portal out of the mini-dungeon.
Return to the ship’s owner in Seesyde Village and he’ll give you a Fairy Bottle.
