Treyarch has spent the past four years developing the new Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and the long development cycle looks to have paid off as the developers have overhauled and improved many aspects of the game to deliver one of the most well-received entries in the series that we’ve seen in quite some time. These improvements and changes have led some players to claim that this is “the best Call of Duty since Black Ops 3,” and it is difficult to argue against that claim.

One of the improvements made to Black Ops 6 is the addition of Combat Specialities, which are inspired by Specialist Abilities from Black Ops 3. Here is everything you need to know and how to use them in your loadout.

Combat Speciality explained

There are plenty of customization options in Black Ops 6. Captured by VideoGamer

When creating your own custom loadout in Black Ops 6, you have the option to choose three perks, each with its own unique abilities. These are great to give you an advantage during a match and there are many to choose from to suit every play style.

Each perk in Black Ops 6 is broken up into one of three categories, Enforcer, Recon, or Strategist. If all three perks in your loadout are from the same category, you will be able to add a fourth Speciality perk that will grant a unique perk, such as a buff to movement speed and health regen, the ability to see through walls, or a score bonus.

By equipping three perks of the same Combat Speciality, Enforcer (red), Recon (blue), or Strategist (green) you will activate the Combat Speciality. This is an extra perk to go alongside the other three that you have chosen. You don’t need to use a Speciality perk so take a look at all of the available options and see what works best for your play style and whether the extra perk is worth sacrificing other colored perks.

Here is a full list of all of the perks available during the Black Ops 6 beta.

Make sure that the Combat Speciality is worth only using perks from one category.
