BMWK – SPF
Black Myth: Wukong can be a demanding game for some PC rigs to run. The game comes with a Compatibility Mode that tries to help with this issue, but that isn’t always an optimal solution. BMWK – SPF provides an alternative solution to help with low performance problems and stuttering, while trying to maintain the game’s beautiful graphics.

Enhanced Wukong Visuals
Enhanced Wukong Visuals is another mod that looks to improve the game’s performance by attacking the issue from a different angle. This mod can be especially beneficial if your GPU is not up to par for the game’s requirements. It disables several post-processing effects such as fog, lens flare, bloom, and depth of field. Meanwhile, it enables anisotropic filtering to bring back some of the fidelity. The mod has several text files you can tinker with to further change the settings, making it malleable to use to your preference.

Vibrant Reshade – Black Myth Wukong
Reshader mods will likely come in many shapes and sizes as the game’s modding scene develops. With several to choose from, we particularly liked the Vibrant Reshade mod. If you feel like the game’s colour palette looks washed out, this mod will pop up the colours to higher vibrancy. Mind you, it won’t make it look cartoony by any means, and we feel like the modder found a good balance between the game’s original look and a higher intensity of colours like reds and greens.

Play as Tifa
This funny mod replaces Wukong’s original outfit, Tiger Hide Loincloth and fully transforms it into Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. It’s a simple mod that’s just too silly not to get a mention, and one of the few comedic reskin mods that are already available for the game. Sadly, you don’t get Tifa’s powers along with the look, but who knows, there may be a mod for that too on the horizon.

Disable Vignette
Disable Vignette is a simple mod that removes the dark vignette effect around the edges of the screen. While that’s not something everyone wants to do, for those who dislike the effect, this mod is the perfect solution to get rid of it.
Weapon reskins – Double Diamond Pickaxe and Double Bladed Lightsaber
These mods fall into the same category, so we’re making them a two-for-one deal. Both replace your staff with different skins, giving you a way to have more fun while monkeying around.

Double Diamond Pickaxe mod replaces the staff with pickaxe heads from Minecraft. It even appears as a fully pixelated plane for an extra comedic effect. Sadly, this mod only works with the Willow Wood staff (for now).

Meanwhile, the Double Bladed Lightsaber mod works across all staff options in the game. It uses Darth Maul’s weapon model from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, complete with the ominous red glow. Frankly, it looks amazing in Wukong’s hands, though it’s just a matter of time before even the Monkey King gets replaced by Darth Maul himself.
Mouse Sensitivity Fix
If you’re playing Black Myth: Wukong with a mouse and keyboard setup, this mod will make your life much easier. Mouse Sensitivity Fix helps your mouse movements become more accurate by disabling smoothing and acceleration and levelling the polling between X and Y planes. As someone who prefers playing with a mouse and keyboard, this mod was a godsend after finding the default settings and options to be quite lacking.

Unlimited Photo Mode
Another simple yet effective mod that improves the game’s photo mode options. Unlimited Photo Mode does exactly what it says on the tin. It allows you to change the max camera distance from only 15 meters to whopping 150,000 kilometers. It could take a long time to zoom out that far, but this mod speeds up the camera by a factor of three, so you won’t have to wait too long for those cinematic shots.
How to install Black Myth: Wukong mods
Every mod on our list comes with separate installation instructions. Make sure to read them carefully on their mod pages and follow the recommended steps. However, most often the mods need to be placed in a specific mod folder.
Go to the folder where you’ve installed Black Myth: Wukong, and look for this path: BlackMythWukong\b1\Content\Paks\~mods. If the ~mods folder doesn’t exist, you can make it yourself. In addition, make sure to set up Launch Options for the game on Steam by right-clicking and selecting Properties. Then, in the Launch Options box, add -fileopenlog.
Alternatively, you can use the Nexus Mods’ launching tool, Vortex. This app lets you sort and update mods and can be of immense help with downloading and installing mods. But, as always, make sure to read the mod instructions first.
