Rock Guai: Azure Dust
Rock Guai: Azure Dust is unlocked by completing the Man-in-Stone side quest during Chapter 2. It gives you full immunity to all four banes, and its unique talent – Steadfast – increases your defence by up to three ranks. It also comes with a spell called Rockfall, which will cause you to jump into the air before smashing into the ground to cause AoE damage.
Monk from the Sea: Hoarfrost
Mong from the Sea: Hoarfrost is unlocked during Chapter 3. At New Thunderclap Temple, you can encounter a miniboss at an altar near the plaza, defeating which will reward you with the transformation. While in this form, all your attacks deal frost bane, and your unique talent will increase the frost damage you deal, up to six ranks. TThe spell Ice Sheet also allows you to cover an area in ice, dealing AoE frost bane damage to anyone within that area.
Yin Tiger: Ebon Flow
To unlock Yin Tiger: Ebon Flow, you must complete Chen Loong’s side quest during Chapter 3 in order to access the Painted Realm. Here, you must then beat the Yin Tiger blacksmith. This transformation gives you access to deflection and teleportation, and will reduce the cooldown of all Alteration spells. As well as deflection, you’ll gain the Windwalker spell, which makes your dodge briefly turn you into wind.
Macaque Chief: Umbral Abyss
Macaque Chief: Umbral Abyss is automatically unlocked after completing Chapter 3. It will cause your attacks to deal frost bane damage, and your Red Eyes unique talent will increase your attack when an enemy is defeated, stacking up to 30 times. You also gain two spells: Cold Heart and Cold Resolution. Cold Heart puts you in the cold-hearted state which increases blade damage and turns you to mist when dodging, while Cold Resolution lets you quickly move towards your opponent to strike.
Worm Guai: Violet Hail
You can find Worm Guai: Violet Hail in Chapter 4 in Petalfall Hamlet in the Purple Cloud Mountain Area. After defeating Daoist Mi, you’ll unlock the Worm Guai transformation. This will give your attacks poison bane, and will also grant you immunity to poison and a bit of self-healing. Some of your attacks infest your opponent with larvae, and you can use your Hive Mind spell to detonate them, damaging them and healing yourself. This will also happen if you transform back to your regular form.
Yellow Loong: Golden Lining
The Yellow Loong transformation can also be found in Chapter 4, though it’s a tough one to get. You’ll need to obtain the Loong Scale, which will let you fight three Loong bosses. Once you’ve beaten them, head to the Relief of the Fallen Loong shrine, where you can fight one more boss to obtain the transformation. You’ll gain immunity to shock bane attacks and can see through enemy moves to counter them. Your unique talent is Lightning Flash, which increases your I-frames when using your counter against an enemy.
Stone Monkey: Azure Dome – SPOILER WARNING FOR POST-GAME
Last but not least we have the Stone Monkey transformation. You can only unlock this once you’ve defeated the Four Heavenly Kings, at which point you’ll get the chance to battle Erlang Shen again. Defeat him, and you’ll earn the Azure Dome, as well as a new ending cinematic. It gives you immunity to shock and poison, and resistance to all banes. You’ll also be able to convert frost and scorch bane into a buff for yourself, empowering your own spells with different banes.
